Vodacom taking on Neotel?

This offering is not competing with neotel/telkom. it is competing with mobile phones. Hopefully, the reception and quality with be better due to the large antenna. I can't wait for the day when a call costs the same no matter what network or device you are using.

You don't have to wait. Just get a passport..

In europe you can Voip as much as you want all at standard rates. If not free..

Difference being, Vodacom would rush out to put up a mast if your area have no coverage. Neotel don't care.

Yip theres a "Loyalty and convenience" attached to Vodacom over Neotel.

Its the same phone that iburst uses.... So in actual fact its a iburst product resold as vodacom

VodaCom is Cash Flush !

@Chubster - lol since when will vodacom rush out to put up a mast.. lol thats total twang. I have no 3G where i Live only GPRS.. they didnt rush to cover me when i requested it like 2years ago.. - they will only cover an area if there are enough people in that area to make it profitable. Same with Neotel. Lets not start using bogus reasoning to try and hurt another company. Both Neotel and Vodacom have services that are useful to the people who use it.

This new package from Vodacom totally sucks, it can't even compare to Neotels offering and trying to compare the 2 packages is a joke.. who wrote this article anyway..

I looked into this 2 years ago when VC had pre-launch specs published - this was for my sister in law who only knows how to use a standard phone (she has diminished mental capacity). Then it was just going to be a standard mobile contract with this phone instead of a standard cell phone.

But I kinda guess they are missing the mark with this product launch and I will not be interested.
