Vodacom VoLTE Activation

It has to be provisioned on your SIM card.

You can call 111 and ask them to activate it.

Guess it depends who you get, the last time I called the person knew exactly what I wanted but at the end of the day Ockie helped me activate it.

If you have Twitter you can also try there, they usually know a bit more than the phone people.

So after 6 calls I gave up. They actually told me to download the app on the play store. :mad:
 
Thanks to Ockie for activating VoLTE for me but not working so not sure if it's because I was on unbranded firmware and now back on Vodacom firmware
Can someone with a S8 on Vodacom that has VoLTE confirm if this is the right firmware?

Yup mine is exact firmware. I'm also having a problem with both VoWifi and volte not being active.
I know their systems were offline, not sure if back on.
If someone else can comment if they have VoWifi or volte active atm with same firmware would be much appreciated. Or even if you have different firmware.

Me too. I have the Vodacom S8 firmware installed and updated but no go for me too. I can see the wifi calling option there and can slide it on or off but no VoLTE.... :(

I think this link refers to the software update 2 weeks ago. So we know for sure the software was enabled.
I'm thinking it's a SIM issue. What contract are you on or price plan? Just trying to narrow down the possibilities.

Also, can anyone confirm with volte active on s8, Vodacom.
 
Guys. I am not doing Volte and Vowifi activations anymore. It is such a hit and miss and I dont have any answers for you. I have tried to enquire about it, but was met with a stone wall. I will only be assisting with normal LTE activations.

Can you help with deactivating international calling (not roaming) I want to deactivate that on my SIM. Call centre says it's a business contract so I need to send through a formal request on letterhead.

You cannot have international roaming without international calling. Roaming is intrinsically linked to international calling, though you can have international calling without roaming active.
 
After reading on the Vodacom community page and trying it myself, I can confirm that VoLTE works on S8 after deactivating international calling. Do not confuse this with international roaming. Int calling is the ability to call international numbers while in SA. It is activated by default on all prepaid and top up contracts. All hard capped contracts don't have it activated by default I think.
Anyway, I deactivated the feature and for the first time I see the Volte icon on my phone. Been trying to get this to work for months and not even Vodacom could tell me why it's not working. Hope it helps some of you.

For the iPhones? VoLTE hasnt been working for a while now on iphone...
