Vodacom 'Win Every Time' prize delays

I thought all the WISPs and operators learnt their lesson the last time with the Idols voting debacle. Don't these idiots stress test their systems before launching? With the promise of free prizes, what sort of response did they expect? It should've been nothing short of overwhelming.

I just got R3 loaded onto my account... No promo code or anything. Very weird!
 
I guess I musta canned their spam. Maybe that's why there's no messages to my phone? :D
 
I think the following statement is CR@P:
“Due to the overwhelming participation in Vodacom's Win Every Time campaign, some Vodacom customers who have recharged with R29 or more, may have experienced a delay in receiving their voucher number via SMS, confirming that they've won a prize,” said Nicolene Visser, Vodacom’s Executive Head of Corporate Communications.

What percentage did indeed get the SMS? I asked around, and not one person who recharged received the SMS...

I too, have asked around and no one I've spoken to has received an sms from Vodacom regarding their prize.
 
I received sms last night saying that there are some delays but I have won.
 
Seems everyone that gets the message has "won". Wonder if the prize is the chance to enter a paying competition :/
 
It really is disappointing that Vodacom would announce a competition, put up websites, TV ads but not be ready to handle the prize award process. It's rubbish that their system is 'overloaded'. It just a way to get people to recharge more and they'll worry later about keeping up their end of the deal.
Bad Vodacom! Bad! Sit. No gravy on your Epol for you today.
 
me too and this morning, i received another sms
"Vodacom WIN EVERY TIME is guaranteed awesomeness! To claim your prize, SMS WIN to 31118 (free). Your prize will expire within 7 days if not redeemed. T & C Apply."

i sent the reply but nothing has come through again as yet..


BTW does anyone know what kind of prizes are up for grabs???
 
I am a vodacom contract subscriber as well but mine gets loaded with airtime and i received an sms to say i won..
 
How will one know if a sms received is truly from Vodacom? I can already see more than one scamster abusing the situation.
 
Got the sms this morning, replied instantly and have not received anything yet...
