I tried connecting to the net (Via Win XP laptop and E220 modem) on 14 th and discovered that I couldnt. Likewise I couldnt get through on my cell to vodacom numbers and thought that Vodacom might have a problem. Went on the net with cellphone and saw about the cable that someone went and cut and thought that might be it. Tried several times even on my desktop (also XP) but got squat.
However I tried on Ubuntu 8.04 and got on fine with no problems. Whats up?
I get the normal signal strength, push connect and there I go. Connected. I can see that I am sending and receiving data, but only for a short time. It then disconnects. The little "dashboard then indicates that I have no modem connected, but the little blue light on the modem still flickers on and off. I try again and all I get is frustrated and want to throw modem against the wall.
I have uninstalled the VMC software and reloaded it. I am running the correct software for the modem. I switched off Win update, anti virus and anything else I could think of - still no difference.
The modem works perfectly on Ubuntu, great speeds and no problems. So the modem works.
What can be wrong? Any suggestions?
