I have a 75Mb Bolt-on data package on my contract, and requested a 500Mb Ad-hoc this morning ... when I go to Services on Vodacom4me, I can see both those packages loaded (as they should), but when looking at balances, I only see the balance for the 75Mb ... shouldn't I see the 500mb one already as well?

It has done that to me before to, only when the 75Mb is finished does it start showing the new 500Mb bundle.

:eek::eek::eek:
Yes, you should. Monitor the 75mb closely, and as soon as it runs out, if you don't see the adhoc 500mb bundle - go buy a prepaid card (use prepaid bundle rather) and log a query (get log number) with customer care about your adhoc bundle not appearing as data usage available... maybe use 5megs or so to prove the adhoc bundle is not being recognised, but charging you OOB rates as well as charging for the bundle.

Don’t know if this is related, but I have also had endless problems with both voice and data this month.

Not a day has passes in the last four days that I haven’t made a number of calls to customer care to try and get some or other thing sorted out on my contract.

One of the things was that I had a 2GB bolt-on data bundle activated at a Vodashop on the 1st of the month on the 4U contract which I migrated to from Family Topup. By yesterday the data bundle was still not activated although the v4me site showed that I had subscribed to a 2GB bolt-on data bundle. Phoned 155 and reported this.

This morning I noticed that the bundle was activated minus 85mb. Only a 1960837.12 KB threshold was allocated for the month. I phoned customer care once again, only to find out that I had, over and above the fact that I received 85mb short of the 2GB, in fact also been double billed for this and would have received a huge surprise on my bank statement at the end of the month had I not phoned and queried.

This was only the problem I had with my data bundle. There was also an issue with voice, where the only number I was able to phone for three days was customer care and I was also not able to send SMS’S.

Over and above this the v4me site has also been acting up for the past few days, with endless “we are currently experiencing problems servicing your request” errors.

So by now I am well and truly fed up, as it seems as if when things start going south they go way south and that there is never a quick and easy solution to get any of these kinds of errors and queries resolved. It always seems to take a number of calls to customer care and a couple of days to get things to work the way they are supposed to.

Very glad to hear V3G is back in the country and on the forum. He has always proven to be able to take most of the frustration out of situations like this. Just one PM or e-mail and things get sorted, just a pity that the same can not be said of most of the other customer care / Vodashop staff.

BTW welcome back V3G hope you had a great time and loads of fun.

Hopefully v3g can help me here. As per my first post in this thread, things are still the same, with about 10mb left on my 75mb package. Looking at the services on vodacom4me again, the Ad-hoc 500mb bundle is listed under "Free services" ... maybe this is why I can't see the balance, as it is not loaded properly?!

Be cautious when using the v4me to load Ad-Hoc (read top up) bundles. I tried it last month and all it did was replace my current bundle to the xxx adhoc bundle for the next month.

Do you see multiple Ad-Hoc bundles of the same size on v4me ?

Phone 155 and get them to remove the bundle, and make it a fixed bundle from next month (1 Sept) and use a PPDB if possible, which will allow you to roll some of your data into next month.

I have also had headaches with loading bundles on vodacom4me, thats why I phoned 155 to do it, and now this is what happens ... and I REALLLYYY want to download the new ROM for my TyTN ...

Question on the PPDBs .... as a contract subscriber, how would I go about getting a PPDB?

Keep in mind, I am using data on my TyTN, not some sort of data card, so it is not a separate sim

You would need to buy a pre-paid SIM card [<R2.00 at Pick'nPay], activate the SIM card by calling 100, then call 155 to make sure the SIM card is provisioned for data, then transfer pre-paid airtime credit using Internet Banking, then use the SMS method for purchasing a PPDB as described in the sticky Data Bundles FAQ thread.

But then I will have to use the prepaid sim as the the sim in my phone ... that ain't gonna work :(

Ahhh, but you asked about [searchforum]PPDB[/searchforum]s, instead of asking about [searchforum]CDB[/searchforum]s :).

Best to read through the sticky Data Bundles FAQ thread as it contains info about both PPDBs and CDBs.

Yes, I did ask about PPDBs, as that was suggested, and hence my question around PPDBs on contract. The CDB faq does not give any indication as to what to do about a "free" 500mb ad-hoc bundle :p

Sorry should have been clear that you would require a seperate sim :o

Thank goodness I use a data card .....

@LandyMan, do you also see multiple AdHoc Bundles of the same size on v4me ?

I had the same problem last month. My AdHoc add on bundle replaced my BoltOn for the month after activation, I hope you resolve your issue.

I have found that emailing customercare (with a full explanation in your e-mail), although initially actioned slower, seems to lead to a more speedier and conclusive resolution.

Vodacom systems screwed up!

Ok, so I phoned 155, and according to Sydney their system is faulty. The 500mb ad-hoc bundle for Aug has been loaded, and get this, to be activated on the 31st of Aug?! Idiots!
So Sydney logged a service request, which will be done in one working day, iow end of Monday!
Bottom line is that this was actioned on the 2nd of August, so I loose out on 5 days of my bundle, plus I am too scared to use my connection, as I don't want to be charged out of bundle.

v3g, early warning that I am going to push on your button to get this billing sorted out. Actually, thinking about it now I will be using my connection as I should ... I don't care about the Vodacom system being screwed ... If I didn't follow up on this, I would have gotten a fat surprise at the end of the month.
So according to me, I have 6mb left on 75mb bolt-on, and then it will automatically switch over to my 500mb ad-hoc bundle ... And Vodacom, don't even try to charge me out of bundle ... you won't get away with it!

Keep me in the loop please.

Sorry Landyman, but as I posted previously, this system is not working like it should at present (loading adhoc bundles onto contract lines which already have a bundle), my credit for may-july is over R3000... and they are still in the process of passing the credit, money is long gone from my bank account! Not what you would expect of such an advanced company that spends so much on technology - maybe they got the wrong people in charge of billing?

Do yourself a favour and buy a prepaid card, add data function and buy bundles, 'cos the credits don't happen in time to prevent the debit order, and as yet no news on when the problem will be "fixed" on the billing side!:(:(:(
