anyone got this modem what drivers are you using too connect to the internet

auto installs on windows not linux

The install on my ubuntu 8.10 was the quickest, easiest, and most painless I've had with my e220 on ANY OS. Plugged it in, waited a few seconds, connected. I was very impressed.

Yeah, it is now integrated into 8.10, I downloaded Beta drivers from sourceforge to get it working in 8.04, will look for a link and post it when I find it. But a Google search for it should also bring up the beta drivers.

thanks thats what i'm using it worked well in opensuse 11 but now in 11.1 its got all sorts of issues

Try do the following,

You may have to:
# chgrp daemon /etc/ppp/pap-secrets /etc/ppp/chap-secrets /etc/ppp/peers
# chmod g+rwX /etc/ppp/pap-secrets /etc/ppp/chap-secrets /etc/ppp/peers

Then add yourself to the daemon group:

# gpasswd -a username daemon

Then, log out, log back in, and start Vodafone Mobile Connect Card Driver for Linux from the "Internet" section of the menu.

All the above curtisy of formite ranger

But with opensuse 11.1 the e220 works without this, not the sms part but the modem side of it?
