hi guys
Just a quick question. I have a unbranded E220 that came with the Huawei dashboard. I then made a terrible mistake and upgraded the firmware to MTN and the dashboard as well. I had endless problems with Generic Host Errors and could not find a solution. I then decided to change to Vodacom. I got the software from Vodacom to change the firmware and obviously the dashboard. I did the change and it worked for a very short while and for some reason it would not connect again. OK.. the question is ...where can I get the original Huawei dasboard and firmware upgrade software? It was the only dashboard and firmware that really worked.
Regards
Iggy

Take a peek at this post (no. 11). There are also a number of posts in that thread that discuss installation of the Hauwei software.

You might also want to look at the known compatibility issues (although some people think it may only be with vmlite)

1) Can you remember what the original version of the firmware was?
2) What is the current version of your firmware?

Go here and get these downloads but they will only give you the latest Huawei versions of there dashboard.

1) Host is HMC "Huawei Mobile connect"
2) UTP is HMP "Huawei Mobile Partner"

MTN / Vodacom SIM?

Most likely bcos upgrading involves lots of money - both the new MS OS and new hardware, a better option would be to install Ubuntu Linux IMO.

True and understood. But i'm sure he knows some people who knows some people who has a copy for him?

Oh sorry: it's not me; I was referring to

The person(s) looking for drivers and/or upgrades is/are/may include ponder or Hatman. Allegedly.

Install multiples huawei E220

Hi,

does anyone has successfully installed severals E220 on same machine (under XP) ? Seems i can only install first one. When i plug a second one, OS doesn't add it to peripherals, it's hidden... strange and annoying...

Obviously Windows wont install "a second device". Its already installed.

Yes windows didn't install a new set of drivers when i plug the second one cause it's already an installed device. But, the second modem device doesn't appears on device list. So this 2nd one is unusable.

And you plug it in the same port? Did you try a different laptop with the second E220?

I plugged 2 usb modem on my desktop at the same time.
If i try to plug 3 at the same time:
same, XP shows me only one.
The 3 works perfectly if used one at a time.

Is there a driver problem or something?

I missunderstood you. I didnt realise you were talking about using 2 or more at the same time.

I noticed this too. I dont think Windows can distinguish the difference. Especially when i want to do a firmware upgrade for a customer and my E220 is plugged in. The Upgrade wont know which is which, so i usually have to remove mine to do it.

It is strange though now that i think about it. When using 1 E220, and you plug it into several USB Ports, Windows distinguishes it as Huawei Mobile Connect - 3G Modem and Huawei Mobile Connect - 3G Modem #2, but when using 2 at once, it doesnt do that
