Vodafone Live

Viewing/browsing pages or sites should be free ! Downloads should make enough cash for vodacom as its R2 a mb.when content such as games are downloaded that should be paid for ! You pay for the data when you download not for browsing ! My Vodafone browsing isnt free ! Why cant vodacom distinguish browsing from downloads ! Dont they know ? Vodacom has 20 million users.why you guys think so and how many vodafone users in s.a ?

So how do you distinguish between browsing and downloading, file extensions? At what point does a picture or html file become big enough to be considered a download? Data transfer is data transfer whatever its used for.

I think you are rather referring to the storage or non-storage of information downloaded?

- If you download a page or a picture to your PC and you then don't save it, I believe you consider this browsing?
- However, if you actually save the file or picture in question it is now downloading?

In both cases you used exactly the same resources, i.e. the same radio channels, Telkom lines, servers, international bandwidth, etc. If we could only pay Telkom when you actually save something on your PC, we'd be the first to try it! ;)

Only browsing the - and downloading from the Vodafone Live Portal itself is free of charge, i.e. you don't pay for the data stream itself. But the moment you buy something, you pay for that item and don't pay again to download it.

Think of the VLive portal as a shop, you can browse and look around the shop as much as you like, but will only pay for the actual item you buy.

The moment you leave the VLive portal (we call this going off-net), you now are in the same situation as if you're on the normal internet apn, now you pay per byte.
Just to see content such as music,games,etc we are charged for it ! I am using a v360v with vodafone live.who said vlive apn is free ? I pay for the download (game file),pay for connecting,and pay for the viewing the site/page,and pay for the data which i download !

Not on VLive. If you are paying to browse the VLive portal itself, something is wrong and you must please contact me.

Vodacom3g must i pm or email you ? I give up.i am paying on the vlive homepage when browsing.akash your vlive must be free and thats why you not complaining :p any other vodafone users have a problem with vodacom ?

PM me all your contact details, cell number, the number you use to browse, e-mail addy, swiss account number and anything else you can think of and I'll log it and cc you.
 
You not getting my swiss bank account number and pin vodacom3g ! You probably will have a party or take a vacation to an exotic island or both ! Lol ill email you my details later.i dont know why you guys where interfering with vlive when it was fine for us vodafone users

R2 a mb is a bit much on vodacoms network.why are they charging this fee ? You guys dont make enough through sms,mms,voice calls and other services you offer ? Why is it priced this way for gprs ? So you can sponsor more sports like rugby,cricket and soccer ! Whats next ? Volleyball and table tennis ! Lol.
 
You know what let me try v mobile ;) the network maybe unstable but the rates are great :D lets see how many customers vodacom has left when v mobile gets act together with its signal,etc.R50 for 100 mb of data is good.20 million customers - 1 and counting.lol ill use my vodafone with v mobiles network.i am a traitor.lol
 
What is up with vlive lately? Sometimes it's free and sometimes it's not.

They paid me R4.54 to use 35.9MB yesterday. :D
 
Vodacom is s.a leading network with 20 million customers and i dont know what they lead in.i know their services are great but their prices are not so great ! The networks with the best rates for gprs and calls is mtn and virgin :D vodacom had a good thing when they offered vodafone with free wap but as always it about the money and how much you can get out of customers.lets see how long they can lead consumers to paying R2 a mb and R5 a minute for a call during peak times.
 
Prometheus knowing vodacom they will probably track you down and make you pay for the free browsing you had on vlive.lol its all about the money its not about the customers and what they want ! Its never about the customers ! Can i trade my vodafone for a free call ? Lol
 
R5 a call is way exaggerated :D I too have wondered why there is so much sponsorship and no significant decline in pricing. In economics there is something called the 'TANSTAAFL' rule which stands for :'there ain't no such thing as a free lunch'because someone has to pay for it. The same applies here - the customers are contributing to all those huge sponsorship deals.
 
The idea with sponsorships is to use excess funds to advertise yourself and create a good company image. This in turn should lead to more customers, better services, and lower prices. It is however supposed to be one or two events, not everything under the sun. The way Vodacom does it all funds are given away, thereby not leaving much room for price decreases and better services. Instead thry try to make this up with "value-added" services. We don't want that, we want real value in the basic services.
 
how do i get the vlive access point to work on my non vodacom branded phone? It doesnt connect since I got my firmware flashed to the original nokia firmware
