Hi
I wonder if anyone can help. I have a really annoying issue with my phone (Samsung Galaxy S2) and have narrowed it down to MTN. What happens is the amazing voice recognition does not work on MTN but does work on Vodacom. When doing the double tap on the home button and then saying anything works beautifully on Vodacom. MTN just reports unable to contact server. So my conclusion is that MTN blocks certain ports that is necessary for the phone to do voice recognition that is done on some remote server. I can still talk via bluetooth but have to dial manually. Additionally I can't do any handsfree functions on the phone as it all needs an active server connection. Its really frustrating as I drive very far every day.
I haven't been able to find out anything else about it so I'm asking the gurus here to help. I have tested this issue on 3 different Androids and its all the same. Vodacom works everytime and MTN not at all. There is nothing that I can change on my phone to fix it. Definitely network related.
Please help!
