VOIP solutions ?

Nope check Telkom's price list, VOIP is now classed as a Landline call. So it's R65c p/m Telkom Price List

With respect, you are looking at the wrong figure. The minimum charge is 65c for the call. If you call VOX (as per the price list you quoted) it is 0.03211c per second, or R1,93 per minute. The cheapest (peak time) interconnects from Telkom are to Cybersmart (R0,51 per minute) and Telfree (R0,59 per minuter). Cheapest off peak interconnect from Telkom is actually to Mweb (R0,31 per minute).

Our company is about to spend around R140 k on a voip sollution. I think from Samsung

Who is a good option for small home/business users?
NOT VOX.Research before you just jump in.Samsung do not do Pure VOIP.I know what i am speaking about and you will be held ransom.

Just a simple question but how is the quality on these wireless VOIP solutions?

It will differ from provider to provider. Depending on what type of calls you want to cut costs on it might even be less pain to look at some of the value add services from Telkom like CellSaver and SupremeCall than experimenting with an unknown provider.

That being said there are providers offering quality VoIP solutions, but depending on your needs or size of operation, Telkom services might be a good bet.

Thanks for the suggestions. I usually ignore any telkom type of service out of habit but cellsaver/supremecall don't seem to bad.

We have found that it works well for many of our clients. When compared to some of the VoIP offerings they are actually pretty well priced and you generally can't fault Telkom on call quality.

We also use Vox however not directly. We have our own license and VoIP routing, management servers and we breakout through Vox and other providers. On this setup we manage our own VoIP backbone and it works fantastically. I am not sure if there is another type of service provider competing the same scale as Vox except for Telkom, Neotel and the Cell companies.

I already have a Freepbx system setup at my offices, because it's in a residential area, I get 1000+ mins every month from Telkom. I'm very frustrated with the incoming calls though and would like to get a SIP number for inbound calls only. Could anyone offer me some suggestions?

Switch Telecom - www.switchtel.co.za - will do inbound via SIP and send example configs for Freepbx. Inbound on geographic (if you're in Durban, then 031 100 xxxx) or 087 550 xxxx numbers. R49 per month. Portability from Telkom is also offered; R150 once-off per number ported in addition to the normal service fee.

Best solution for local only calls? Telkom phone bill around R400, if it was international definatly VOIP but maybe stay with Telkom in my situation
