Go to a reputable car fitment centre and do it.

My first car 2004 new Citi Golf, second new 2006 Polo, my wifes(GF then) new 2008 Polo, all sound was done by myself and the warranty was never voided.
As long it is done right and no wires cut, don't stress.

That's a lot harder to do now a days with a lot of cars having more features built into the radio. I can setup my car from my radio, so if I replace my head unit I effect the remote, the doors, windows, lights and some other things and if they do break GM can tell you to F off.

That would void the warranty by disabling the Volvo's most important safety feature - the inherent dullness of the driver.

Is there an alternative?

The amount of people I’ve found that don’t understand the difference between 15000km or one year whichever comes first would astound you.

As well as people who never check their oil or tyre pressure until the engine is almost dead or the wheels are coming off.

So people not understanding the warranty is no surprise.

Boggles my mind that people will buy a couple of hundred thousand rands worth of car and not even get the basics right.
