Vox Telecom Fatpipe

??

Thanks for the reply.

No I won't use any funky configs. I just want Internet that works and that doesn't break every 3 months.

I would like an unshaped product - and looking on the vox website it says "Unshaped internet experience". Is it unshaped at all times?

Also on one of the mybb articles it read "Vox is also introducing free unlimited data between midnight and 6am for Fat Pipe customers" - when will this be introduced?

its unshaped and its already implemented

Now, just to fix latency in the evening :) 340ms on diablo3

We have been working on this issue since about 830pm, narrowed the problem down with the help of CS1977. We've gotten Telkom involved and they are busy investigating.

As soon as this is resolved, you'll probably know before me.

The problem is inside Telkom network as they hand the network over to us.

No estimated time of resolution, but our netops and theirs are busy with this as I type this.

Yep, and they've made me feel pretty

According to fatpipe terms and conditions - 6.3 The supplier reserves the right to shape usage. When if ever will this occur (as this is a capped product) and if not what's the point of having in the terms and conditions in the first place. Also will the uncapped 6-6 include weekends and will it always remain unshaped to your line speed.
??? @cvwanie... No response?

Been getting a black screen which results in a system error whenever I try to check daily usage.

Since last night.

Vox needs to protect themselves. Can't just allow the network to degrade by allowing everyone to download like mad while there are issues.

This is just for protection for IF there are issues that can be averted by shaping. Doesn't mean it will happen, just means they can if need be.

Firstly uncapped is not 18:00 - 06:00. That is BOLT ON - which is a separate product limited to 10mb of speed and which may be shaped IF needed.

FatPipe uncapped is from 00:00 till 06:00 7 days a week. Weekends 06:01 - 23:59 is normal capped use.

It will occur if the network is being thrashed, as with any network. They put in the T&C's to project themselves. As any responsible company should do.

Is this the same issue we reported a month ago? I tried FPS gaming since Sunday (have not tried for a few weeks) and found Vox still has latency issues to local game servers every night. I reported it to support on Sunday, but there is very little feedback.... just a phone call from a confused guy... I am back to doing daily tests for support :(

My two different traceroutes appear to show 2 different problems.

Night owl doesn't seem to be working for me on the 150 fatpipe just yet. I tested it last night and checked the daily usage this morning. It states I used 1.5Gb of off-peak data this morning. Can anybody confirm that it's working?

I received an email from Vox about the upgrade from 100-150GB and the after hours bolt on, but it mentioned a price of R328pm. Im on the 100GB special so that price is wrong, anyone else who is on the 100GB special get the same mail?

Hmm. Signed up for the 300GB capped product for 485 a month. Now I get an extra 100GB but have to pay 925? What's up with that?

Uhm... methinks the emailer be a generic one listing the current package prices.

Those who purchased these on special I suspect will continue to pay their special, discount prices, not the current listed prices.

Jip, got exactly the same.

Yes, I got the same and I have 3 of those accounts so I was a little bit surprised.

Yeh, I am pretty sure this will be resolved fast.

I was on the 100GB R164 half price special. Just got the email from Vox to say I have been bumped to the new 150GB + midnight to 6am uncapped bundle. Yay! :)

But it seems the price has gone up :wtf:? Hopefully this is just a mailshot typo?

We have enhanced your Fat Pipe service by giving you MORE data at no extra charge!
Your new data allocation is 150GB at R328.00 per month.

Anyone else have the same issue?

Seems obvious it's an automated email and just picked up the normal price of whatever package you're on. I'm sure nothing has/will change with your billing, their system probably cannot handle taking the special offers into account. Silly to send the mailshot like that though, I'd imagine their support is going to field a lot of calls today.
