Vox Telecom Fatpipe

Ho Voxy. Thanks for sorting out my queries this morning. Much obliged.

Hi Aquiva

Please DM us your contact details so that an agent may call and assist with your request.

This is a poor approach and resembles Afrihost. The reason we post here is not to send you a message (we can do that via e-mail or your own portal). We're here to exchange ideas and check things.

What's with your negative attitude, how do you want support to fix things for people without the needed details, do you want someone special just for you to come to your house?

It is actually a nice gesture to attend to my issue directly even though I didn't ask for it. My reason for posting the issue here was to confirm whether I was the only one with this problem.

I find it more like WebAfrica :) It seems like a canned response because we don't see what happens after that. One quick way to improve this is if the user with the issue comes back here and describes the resolution or at least how the customer service was. That way we get the start and end of the conversation without the noise in the middle.

Don't be silly. What's the point of his joining here and then doing everything in private. We just see "contact me" which is not what the forum is for.

I can see customers here who have similar issues with Vox and that's a start. Their rep can then provide explanations without contacting each and every one of us. It saves them time too.

So this is the difference between VOX and TI at the moment:

What is that fourth hop? This happens every night and very negatively affects the connection in general, not just latency.

The TI test was running a lot longer, but was pretty stable. The VOX one deteriorates even more as the evening progresses, and then is back to normal again in the morning. So this is definitely not exchange congestion.

EDIT: I give up, I can't get this damn thing to format the text properly. Copy paste into notepad, it should be formatted better.

Ah, yes, I have had the same problem.

They tried to blame my exchange for it.

seems they have some network fixing to do

Was really confused because the router hops to ISP returns 6ms average for the entire day... and then I checked the hops further than just reaching the ISP...
Seems like an IPC / routing issue? ( *erm* being routed via london?)

NetOps and I have been working on it since just after 10.

Do me a favor -- run a few more tests. I'm checking on the forum every few minutes.

Hmmm getting 900Kbs to 1.3Mb/s from Origin on VOX 20Mb line......I switched to my webafrica 1gig account and I get between 2 and 2.1Mb/s

I hope all their good new deals hasn't killed there backbone/ capacity :erm:

Anyone else have problems logging into the Vox Portal?

The ID/Username/Portal password (Confirmed via sms reminder) combination = Login failed.

(PS. Very happy with Vox in general - thanks guys!)

I might be wrong, but I think Origin uses Akamai right? We did see Akamai was getting hammered for the last 2 hours. I'm going to look into that peering agreement tomorrow with the network team.

Thanks Valhallan.

Anyone know how I can get my port reset at this time of night?
