Vox Telecom Fatpipe

Can anyone else of Vox fatpipe test spotify ? Tracks don't load, iOS and desktop app taking ages to connect.

Web Africa and Afrihost are fine, no problems streaming tracks.

Very strange, seems like it's getting blocked somewhere.

Voxy - you have pm, thanks.

Thanks for all the info guys - I've cancelled my AH Business account and moved to VOX.

EDIT: ...only thing scaring me now is the potential VOX OOB shark @ R40 /GB. Seems their uncapped bolt-on doesn't apply to Fatpipe accounts (pity!).

They've been around for some time already.

Yes, but clearly they have some big corporate customers that need big bandwidth during the day like IS subsidising us small folk, so have spare capacity after hours but the more people that come online with their netflix streaming, this finite resource will get saturated at the end of the day and don't see them increasing capacity for us cheapskates.

Flawed logic is flawed, even the people downloading torrents will saturate the pipe, not just netflix.

I meant all bandwidth consuming services when I mentioned Netflix, but with torrents, one can schedule them overnight, one can't watch Netflix/stream overnight.

So you're effectively saying people shouldn't use the bandwidth at their disposal even thou they paying for it. :erm:

Torrents you can schedule for after hours.

Can't really do that with Netflix.

Also due to the amount of open connections torrents actually are more harmful to the network.

No, I'm saying keep your awesome experience's to yourself to keep the masses away.

EDIT: No offense intended :)

Lol, please go learn about TCP before making stupid remarks like that, open connections does nothing to a network except use up available pool space. Which gets recycled, by your own admission http servers should collapse due to the shear volume of connections. :erm:

Apologies if this has been discussed before.
2mb fat pipe + bolt on

Most of the bf4 servers I want to play are international but I get a ping of about 160 - 250 most of the time leading to me being kicked. Are there a solution or is that just how it is ?

Thank you

That latency is not that bad for international anything between 160-180 is very good.

Indeed, 160ms is excellent and almost the best latency you should expect with any ISP. 250ms is still good, depending on where the server is hosted.

Hi there

I was thinking about getting 75GB Fat pipe (R252.00 p/m) and then using Bolt On for R59. Are there any hidden costs or anything like that? I am only home from 5pm onwards and bolt-on kicks in after 6pm. So generally I won't be home during business hours anyway but still have enough for the wife and I whenever we do get a day off for Netflix and Hulu or gaming. Should be sufficient I say :)

You cannot get uncapped bolt-on with Fatpipe.

Go for a Incredible Connection account then.

Will just keep going with my Afrihost 100 + 100 account for now but to be honest Afrihost's streaming is quite horrid (even on my 10mb line).
