Vox Telecom Fatpipe

That's very odd.

I wonder it can differ from user to user? There are people in the thread I created with the exact same issues regarding Whatsapp, videos etc

Android or iOS or windows? Perhaps Vox + android = fault?

You asked about play store so I'm assuming you have issues there too?

I'm on iOS so was answering yes to the Whatsapp part of your query although my android based minix box didn't have any issues with play store content. So...?

Difficult one to nail down. Whatsapp can be flaky at times but never consistently so.
 
I have Android.

I have 3 accounts - TI, CrystalWeb and Vox ... and over the past few days I've done extensive testing with each.

Vox is the only with these issues and it isn't a maybe as to if they'll happen- it's a definite. Change to Vox and you won't connect online, you will not download from the Play Store, your photos will not back up, you will struggle with Whatsapp photos. The other two are zero issue.

I moaned about the Whatsapp issue 8 or 9 months back, but as I wasn't paying for the data then (Samsung promo), didn't bother me disconnecting, sending and reconnecting. Now that I'm paying, I'd like to be able to do the basics.

I reached out to technical on Saturday who requested more info. They requested more info again yesterday, so I'll receive an answer today.

Dear Vox

Over the last 2 months I have had numerous times at my house where uploads simply fail. These can be photos or videos of sizes ranging from 68kb to 10mb. Every time this happens I have to switch to my alternative ISP account to get the files uploaded. In addition to this the downloads have also become eratic and at least twice a week we switch to the alternative ISP account to stream content. Users want internet that works more than they want 500GB of accumilated data and can't upload a 68kb document. I'm sorry to say that I will be cancelling my fatpipe account this month due to unreliability. For those who would like to know...my next stop is Axxess 100GB per month capped. My two reference users say they have not experienced any of these issues on their Axxess acounts where I have to deal with it almost daily.
 
Yeah, definitely something broken somewhere on the Vox backbone. Doesn't seem like they have the political will nor the technical expertise to resolve.

Regarding the Google Play store error, is there not maybe a Tracert or Ping or some other computer term I can do, directed to a certain location that can show there is an error? Like ping the Play Store server or something?

I had a look and all our DSL IPC'S are fully opperational.

I am busy with an investigation regarding this issue and will revert feedback to this forum.
 
I'm interless this morning. Neither my Fatpipe nor G4G's working. Both dead. Very frustrating.

Also have the Whatsapp issues for months now. Its a nightmare.

Not a happy chappy...
 
I recently moved to VOX and haven't experienced any of these WhatsApp or Play Store issues. I have both IOS and Android devices
 
In light of LTE issues will be retaining my adsl as failover.
 
^^ Zero issues here on Vox for me. No issues with anything really on my Vox accounts.

Seems some do ; others don't.

If you check my other thread, a few there have the same issues regarding WhatsApp
 
Guys. Wrong forum I know, but I'm on my phone and can't look now for the correct thread - this thread was already open.

I've upgraded to 20Mbps (apparently VDSL) and when I got home... No internet. Called Telkom to find out and they say it's not syncing! I have a Netgear DGN2200V4 modem router - it's not VDSL so could it be I must just get a new modem router or is it more likely a line fault and I must first wait for them to maybe come check next week before I buy one?

I can't wait so long!

VDSL requires a VDSL capable modem (By requesting a VDSL upgrade, you commit yourself to buying a new modem if your present one doesn't support VDSL modulation)
 
FML!!! Downloads DEAD, Browsing DEAD, router syncing at 10.5 Mbps. Tired of this BS. Still waiting for the VOX "engineers" call from 3 weeks ago. My money will go elsewhere soon.

Sounds like VDSL - but make 100% sure first before buying a new modem.

When I signed up, they called it VDSL and even gave me a VDSL modem - but turns out my 20mbps upgrade was ADSL2+ which worked with my old modem anyhow
