Vox Telecom Fatpipe

Why can I hardly ever stream twitch properly using Vox?

Back when I used to have a 2mb connection I could stream on medium with it very occasionally pausing to buffer. That was with a different ISP. Now that I'm on Vox and using a 4mb connection, I experience unreasonable amounts of buffering while still on medium. There are very few evenings when I can watch a stream without it cutting out so much.

Downloads are fine, youtube is fine, latency is generally ok. It's mostly just twitch that doesn't seem to play nicely.
Rather play the games yourself, instead of watching others playing ;)

Why do people watch sport when they could just go play it themself?

Is it not because the people you watch are on a level you will never be? Is that not the same reason why the most popular Twitch channels are successful?

Not sure I get this Bryn. For what it's worth, I actually play football and cricket ;)

I do both at the same time, dual monitor setup :D
Besides that I enjoy watching competitive gaming which now days I'm too casual to get involved in.

And thanks again Soul Assassin. Looks like I can stream on high without issue now.

Service is absolutely pathetic atm,

Sent an email to enquire about cancellation - no response - followed up - no response.

Their e-mail support is appalling. Try phoning maybe, it's ridiculous that you'd have to do this with an ISP but if you want it done quicker it may be the solution.

I tried their live chat a while back which was is essentially just you typing to yourself. I see their live chat doesn't even load now.

I just checked and see connection is refused, I used the live chat a week or so ago and it went great and I was immediately helped by someone.

You were right. I phoned them, and they instruct me to send an email to cancel.

What a pathetic joke.

Eventually got someone with a brain on the call who cancelled my account.

I take it the Western Cape is out of Bandwidth again?
It has been getting slower all afternoon and now there is no chance of Streaming anything tonight.

I agree, trying to download 100 meg file on my 40 meg VDSL, and it's been more than 10 minutes already. I'm in George (Western Cape)

[-]No problems here.[/-]

Woop, I should check before posting. Yes - it's suddenly dipped, checking my Forza download and has dropped to 3Mbps.

Dead slow again tonight. During the day, speedtest shows 38MB/s, and I can download accordingly. Tonight, speedtest is still 38MB/s, but downloads hovering around 500Kb/s. Something is seriosly wrong at vox. Getting afrihost flashbacks here.

What downloads are slow? I can test my side too.

MB/s = megabytes per second. 38MB/s is 304Mbps. Is this really your connection?

I left Afrihost too due to poor performance. Crystal Web has been amazing. Consider giving them a go if you ditch Vox.
