Vox Telecom Fatpipe

So I was deciding between Vox and Crystalweb for sign up on 01 March....

Guessing I'm going with Crystalweb?

Evening guys. In George, western cape area. Having really bad connectivity to certain international sites. ie, Facebook fast, amazon, slow but eventually loads, but youtube is unusable. I have 100meg fibre, and youtube buffering on 144p.

I've contacted Vox, and they do not know of any issue. They will escalate to the core team, and let me know.

Same.

Wouldn't recommend Crystalweb anymore, they became a lot worse. Seems lots are jumping ship to Telkom's internet packages currently.

Geeeezuz... this is frustrating. My VOX account still borked.

Speedtests are fine, but actually trying to use this account for anything is just a futile, frustrating exercise.

Timeouts, constant buffering, reload, reload, reload...

Backup accounts then it is for yet another day.

I'm also thinking of telkom, unbelievable.

The speeds are so unreliable, was working beautifully this morning and now everything is gone to hell again.

Oh well... I phoned VOX support... was told that there are no issues on their side by the support person.

He "reset" my account (whatever that may mean) and no real improvement.

Works for a bit, then back to the bufferfest of timeouts and no/reloads.

He also had no explanation as to why the backup accounts just work at line speeds, just the VOX account is borked.

Oh well...

Maybe this weekend it improves...

Exactly the same issue I'm having. Logged a call with VOX last night, and NO feedback.

Probably because there is nothing wrong.

They are shaping the accounts to the point of being unusable, but that is deliberate, so there si nothing wrong as far as support goes.
Went through this with afrihost a few years back. Adamant they were unshaped accounts till it all imploded and they were forced to admitted they were shaping and would build a new network from scratch.

I have never trusted them or any other ISP since.

Going like a boeing here in Bloemfontein. Sad to see you guys having issues down in the Cape region :(

The person four posts up is in Johannesburg and he has issues, I'm also still extremely happy with my Vox account, I wonder why the experience varies like that.

Seems like those of us having issues are mostly in the Cape -- I'm starting to wonder if their IPC in Cape Town is oversubscribed or problematic?

If that's the case, this problem may persist for a while longer. They'll be reliant on Openserve to fix IPC or add capacity, and if I recall correctly, there's a bit of a lead time on that. Poor planning from Vox though if it's the IPC over capacity.
