Vox Telecom Fatpipe

Well that fix didn't last long.
6PM on a Saturday and streaming is impossible and downloads at no more than 10% of line speed.
Back to the Telkom Backup account.
Maybe it is finally time to stop paying VOX.
I now spend more time on the backup account than I do the VOX account so any payment is throwing good money after bad.

What’s your backup account?

What’s your backup account?

The 3GB Telkom account I got with the ADSL line back in 2000 odd, I never canceled it in case they cancel the line too, so now I use it as a backup account. I don't even know how much data is allocated to it now but I have never run out.

With new neighbors moving in next door to me I got reminded to make sure to keep checking the channel for all of my 2.4GHz wifi devices before switching to my backup Telkom Internet account. It has saved me a lot of hassle.

worst weekend I had with VOX... my fatpipe had been very unstable and could not download nor stream and my port had been recreated last week. time to leave I think... VOX died along with the bolt on it seem....

So for the past month I have been trying out Axxess, with the DSL account set to be cancelled by the end of the month. Would it behoove me to stick with Axxess?

I have been using the Fatpipe account on my 40MB Fibre line and I have had no problems. Sometimes my speed dips to 30MB but I hardly even notice that.

Fatpipe is your DSL data right? And you're using it on a fibre line?

This weekend was a tad meh.

Today is even more meh on Vox;

Strange, both Afrihost and Vox were bad for me on Friday, but I wasn't home much for the weekend.
Just did this test when I got home:

Considering someone is streaming, that's all right in the download department. A bit annoyed in the upload. At least quite stable in terms of no packet loss.

Used Axxess for months and no hiccups. The 3 months roll-over and app is the icing on the top.

Vox basically at a standstill again on a 40mb VDSL. This is 4th time this week. It's not my line since another ISP test account works fine. It's a Fatpipe capped account.
I've been really happy with their service for 2 years, the last 3 weeks has been totally crap though.
Is there any issue in CT?

Is vox dead today?

2 different locations and getting max speeds of 2Mbps on a 100MB & a 40MB line

Using 2 separate accounts

They advised that there is currently a general issue in Durban with our IPC.
Engineers are currently onsite attending to the problem.
No ETTR can be given

Update from Vox live chat

As far as I can see; their product is reliant on the OpenServe exchange you use - the same exchange you use for Telkom...so if your nearest exchange is decrepit, you are going to have a bad experience with VOX fatpipe DSL also, surely?
