It's shocking. Basically fatpipe is dead in the evenings so don't bother using it after 8pm. Surely someone knows why in the technical team ? Yesterday I was told there is 'load balancing' in the evenings to ease the cape town IPC constraints maybe that is stuffing it all up. Tired of this.
 
SSH running at 10kB/s... all other functions in Cape Town are really slooooowwww. WTF?
Is VOX now going through the same crap as Axxess/Afrihost?

EDIT: Local is flying, International is completely dead on ALL protocols.

There seem to be major issues with all my ISP accounts (except MWEB). Throughput is in the toilet, especially international.

I am starting to suspect that even though some ISP are to blame, Telkom is the one common denominator. I think their new policy of enforcing their FUP has had a blanket effect on ALL accounts and ISP's, not just their clients. Maybe someone made a stuff-up and thought it might be cool the enforce the FUP on the user LINES, as opposed to their ISP accounts?

...this might explain the sorry state of internet at the moment? I can't see how every ISP in the country is all of a sudden experiencing massive up-take and contention at the same time.
 
Problem is that it's not every ISP. Crystal Web and my Vox (Jhb) accounts are flying this weekend.
 
Broken yet again, Saturday night.

No Netflix. No MyBB or many other sites.

Voxy, if not resolved ASAP let me know how I can get a refund for my non existent service and having to use Afrihost and axxess as a backup.

I'm speechless. Posting via MTN 3G for a laugh.
 
And like clockwork working perfectly this morning. Netflix kids cartoons streaming in HD.

VOX surely you can tell us why it is broken in the evenings through CT?

Same here - have bought axxess and afrihost data, VOX fatpipe is broken.

Wonder how we can get a refund for the inconvenience ?
 
Yep, MyBB fooked again. Maybe they're just keeping it like this so their subscribers can't post negative comments about them :D :p
 
As a relatively light user who only really needs uncapped in the evenings and weekends, this is the perfect product for my needs when it works - I don't even mind the throttling to 10 meg for the peace of mind that comes with not having to worry about a cap (so if kids want to watch YouTube, etc, they can do so to their hearts content)

Is there any equivalent product out there from any of the other ISPs?

I was happy with Plugg previously until their star system basically broke that uncapped product offering as well.

So frustrating - is it too much to ask for affordable uncapped that works reasonably?
 
No issues with my account the whole weekend, except I think Netflix site was down a while. Other than that, rugby Saturday and watched Netflix in HD last night without major issues.
