Vox Telecom Fatpipe

I have been getting poor network performance from Vox and I decided to cancel and move back to Afrihost, phoned them up ands spoke to someone in accounts... My goodness the lady was REALLY not in the mood for me today! Long story short, Voix has a 30 day full calendar month notice period so I will have to pay for the entire month of November for a service that I won't use. Vox you guys need to take a lesson from Afrihost on how to treat a customer. With AH I can decide to cancel in the same month for the end of that month no questions or attitude given.

Because you are forcing me to pay for next month, I will make sure to download 100% of the cap and I will schedule my downloads for 9:00 in the morning to 17:00 in the afternoon. So as to ensure that my usage costs you as much as possible, and when the service is cancelled you go in my little black book of ISP's I will never consider for my business again. You are with good company don't worry.. Ahem I'm looking at you Telkom.

That's my rant for the day... Peace :)

Wow, really? I was going to hang in there and hope for the best, but if I need to give 1 calendar month notice then I might as well cancel now instead of being tied up with this crap until the end of December. So I have about 2 weeks to find a new ISP. Any suggestions?

What is the story with VOX now? I cannot get to most sites and web goes down to a crawl at 6pm.
Tried to speak to their service desk... but have no clue.
Who can one talk to?

Hey, WTF is happening tonight. Very limited browsing and accessing mybb is only available via 3G. Sounds like this is a common occurance. This is not right. You are happy to take my money every month but don't live up to your side. Oh, tried to chat to someone on live chat twice today. After no response after 30mins, I gave up. Not the service I signed up for.

Yeah. Try and access anything via FTP. It doesn't even connect.

Going to have to cancel if they dont sort this out.
What 200 GIG PM capped accounts have NO restrictions at all?

Fatpipe was one of the options I considered for moving. But I think you guys convinced me wrong option. Also with the bolt on being discontinued. Any recommendations guys - I'm not a geek, so I will need support from time to time, use approx 200gig a month but can cut back. More important for me to get a stable ISP, with decent line speeds (accept shaping of downloads in daytime, but not throttling of whole package as some do) I was 8 years with Axxess before they started throttling to hell, then Afrihost as well after their takeover. All the ISP's I check get regular negative feedback.

You can give WebAfrica capped a try.

I have not used my account much recently as I mainly make use of my Vox accounts (No Vox issues in JHB).
Although my sister uses it during the day and hasn't had any complaints. :)

Also leaning towards them at the moment.

Just additional info - I am on 4mbs line. Presently getting local line speeds under 2 mbs and international 700kbs. Guess it will ALWAYS be blamed on Telkom, but different ISP's at different experiences, that tells me not (exclusively) Telkom problem. At Afrihost a few weeks ago I struggled to open FB pages, took 15 minutes to upload a photo. I am admin for an international large FB group, was forced by internet problems to appoint a second admin as I could not always get onto FB. So I NEED an ISP where I am not going to have regular problems with lines, speeds or support.

Thanks for your patience.

If your line is bad there is nothing the ISP can do about it though. You have to sort that out with Telkom.

I had good line speeds with Axxess before their throttling started - I actually had better speeds with 2 mbs than I later had with 4 mbs, after I moved to Afrihost beginning of the year also immediately excellent line speeds, then last 2 months things started tumbling down a steep cliff (again after the takeover - I suspect from MTN there is revenue drive, more subscription and less bandwidth available) So I doubt whether its a line problem.

If it is line problem, when we transfer our line to an ISP and they take responsibility is it not for them to sort out or sort out with Telkom and give feedback, especially after a problem of slow connections has repeatedly been brought to their attention - I was given a reply of FUP where I was using less bandwidth than equivalent priced capped package. I am aware that ISP is not in control of physical line or exchange and they are reliant on cooperation of Telkom.

Thank you. Great to finally see some official response.

Please let me know if you need anything from my side (diagnostic wise).

We have 4 guys with you on fatpipe + bolt on. (cape town) in the office. All have the same issues, yet your service desk does not know about any problems?

You need to feed issues down stream to your service desk guys, because currently they wasted my time with needless troubleshooting that has nothing to do with the issue.

I am a big promoter of your data deals (hence the 4 extra guys in the office with vox accounts), but your service desk really needs work.

At the very least they need to know that something is wrong, instead of just reading from a troubleshooting checklist.

Thanks, looking forward to have this resolved as I hate shopping around for data deals.

I've been having high latency issues for a few weeks.
Last week I was contacted by a Vox technician, informing me that they are maxing out their IPC and are in the process of getting it upgraded. I asked to be informed when this is completed, so hopefully I'll get a call soon.
Been using AfriHost and WebAfrica free accounts so I can at least play my games!

Dead again. Boom.

VOX this is not just sad, its non delivery of a paid for service.
