Vox Telecom Fatpipe

Friday and yesterday, anything downloading from Apple (presumably from/via/through Akamai) is not coming at line speed. Both app downloads from the iTunes store, and direct downloads (e.g. OS X 10.10.5 combo updater) from the Apple support pages very slow - ranging from 30kB/s to 130kB/s on a 6Mb/s line.

May be worth having a look at, cvanwie

Otherwise Vox performing excellently :)

+1

Also having issues updating all any updates from apple store.

SuperSport Streaming is unusable, and it's not SuperSport.

What is going on?

edit: lets hope I get a response or my 10,000'th post is going to be something to remember

Ok. Just phoned support. They are aware of adsl issues, and no they do not have any ETA on when it will be resolved. So we wait.

Extremely slow internet tonight. 40meg vdsl running at below 3mb/s. Bad ping responses....Will be phoning for support now.

Could be a problem in the western cape alone, reports of other network issues in the area too.

This is the story of Vox today...

Just changed to them about 2 months ago, was going great, now its constant issues. Steer clear, all the Afri-Immigrants are strangling their fatpipe accounts now.

Started at 7:28 to be exact. Connecting to a cape town VPN, sorted the heavy packet loss on international traffic and increased the bandwidth I can get to international streams to 4mb again.

Yebo...this seems like a Telkom outage somewhere as it is not isolated to VOX.

Got 2 other people with different ISPs to test, their avg was 300+. Both on different ISPs, Mweb and telkom. Looks to be IPC upstream issue.

Services not relying on IPC also affected, so yes it's a Telkom backbone problem somewhere.

Telkom was having some weird issues this evening, was not ISP related but more carrier.
Seems to be normal again now.
Haven't seen any issues on vox tbh, wife has been watching netflix and I have been gaming.
