Vox Telecom Fatpipe

You should use the DNS we issue when you authenticate on our network. The DNS admin has assured me that he's fixed the problem; and he's building new DNS per region to bring DNS closer to the subscriber (JHB, Durban, CPT).

I tried changing settings to "Obtain DNS from ISP automatically", it stays on 8.8.8.8. I'm in Vereeniging, which should I use then?

I use the following with no particular issues (although streaming has been slower for the past month, don't know if its the DNS, VOX's network, or Telkom bottlenecking) -
196.41.6.110 (ns1.datapro.co.za)
196.41.30.46 (ns2.datapro.co.za)
Using these servers, I was not affected when everyone else was complaining about DNS problems with the auto-assigned servers

Makes sense, the issues were on our dnscache servers.

@cvanwie - is there any downside to using Google's servers? I notice 8.8.8.8 now has a ~30ms latency so that isn't a factor anymore.

There's no reason other than if you buy a domain through us it won't be immediately available via DNS because it will take time to propagate; beyond that; nothing.

... I'm down in Cape Town on a project and will be back in the office Wednesday; BTW nice weather guys .... NOT!

I have to take the blame for that Chris, it was magnificent over the weekend but I had builders start work on Monday so Murphy struck and Drenched all the Building supply's. On the Bright side, at least you weren't stuck in a server room wishing you were out on the beach :)

So true. I saw the beach... looked miserable! Looking out the window, I see congestion! I mean Table Mountain.

Very odd. I tried these settings, restarted PC, router showed it's synced, but could not connect to Google or any page.
