Vox Telecom Fatpipe

400ms in World of Warcraft, things getting sad, cannot think of raiding tonight with my guild xD.

Good morning all.

As previously mentioned, Vox Telecom was looking at increasing our IPC capacity.

I'm glad to say that this has been successfully completed on our Cape Town IPC's. This should ease much of the problems experienced in the past.

I will continue to update this forum with any new developments.

Regards,
Michael

Wow, that was fast.

Was it dormant capacity that was brought online or has Telkom upped its game and can supply in days rather than months now?

It could also be that the Network team had foreseen the damned and preordered, only confirming the IPC issue once Telkom confirmed an installation date.

Either way, if it has indeed solved the problem then it pushes VOX back up to the top for technical excellence even is the transparency is a little lacking.

Thanks Michael,

Cheers
Chris

Hi Voxy

What about Johannesburg?

Streaming is great, but gaming latency to the EU is high! 260-270ms! Specifically BF4 on PS4 for the past 2 weeks now.

My line seems to be stable now, albeit only syncing at 7mb as opposed to the 10mb last week. I can stream , browse erc at decent speeds, just torrents are dead. Getting 1-3kbps. Got used to the 900-950kbps range.

Hi Aharon

I have requested for regular updates on the progress for any upgrades in JHB. I cannot commit to a timeline at present, but this concern was raised.

I'll keep all of you updated as I receive the news.

Regards,
Michael

Thanks! It used to be around 220-230, the best of all the ISP's!

I should also add that I'm in Mossel Bay, so that already adds a couple of extra milliseconds to local ping tests.

Been jamming LoL tonight for a few hours, ping has been going CRAZY! Up and down the whole bloody time. I use to get 200ms now lowest is 250ms but then it jumps to 300 400 plus the whole time and back down. And thats not mentioned the amount of disconnects :( Changed my ISP to my spare WA and everything is fine with a constant 210ms ping. I dont know whats happening at VOX but this is the reason why I left Afrihost last time.

Good morning,

Please may I ask that you log this with our support desk?

We can rule out some smaller issues or maby even fine an unrelated cause.

You can PM me the ref and I'll ensure it gets attention fast.

Michael

Have recently moved to Elardus Parl, Pretoria been monitoring for a week now and haven't seen speeds faster than 8-9 Mbps does this seem normal for 10 Mbps, only change i have noticed is my upstream sync dropped from 1024 > 947 kbps but downstream syncs full 10 Mbps constantly.

Could my account need to be re synced on VOX ISP ?

Would a Port Reset or Sync Speed from the VOC app help ? Does it work ?
