Vox Telecom Fatpipe

As with most things Telkom I am sot sure we can rely on the Telkom ADSL Checker.
I entered my line number which is currently synced at 12Mbs and got this:

ADSL Availability
Service Not Available
Maximum speed available in your area
To enjoy a faster surfing experience you can upgrade your connection.

^^ Same here!

Thanks.

Just realised it wouldn't help me anyway - FP+BoltOn is limited to 10 anyway

If you had two bolt-on accounts you could load balance with a cheap mikrotik device with both accounts dialed at the same time. Unfortunately unless you already have two, since they no longer offer the service you're out of luck :)

Telkom clearly hates you.

Told me my max speed was 20mbps. Too bad I'm currently synced at 31 :)

Mine was better:

Didn't return my current speed or the fact it is active but at least it din't say it's impossible like Telkom did.

I'm happy mine went from 20Mbps to 40Mbps and I notice doubling my speed is only R74 more, that's a no brainer right?

It's a lottery unfortunately. You'll need to call in and have them test the line, as your maximum sync rate is determined by your distance to the exchange. Unless you're 900 meters or less from the exchange, you won't be able to achieve a full 40mbps.

Actually if you check your attainable rate on your modem stats, you should be able to get an idea, although it's usually a couple of mbps less than the figure there.

I'm only thinking of going to 20Mbps from 10Mbps, thanks for the explanation for future people to see, I know all about my line stats, I have semi-OCD about them, being I check them daily.

Most people would love to have my attenuation:

Code:
                      Upstream Downstream
Line Attenuation(dB)	8.6 9.7

Pretty sure I'm less than 900m.
