Vox Telecom Fatpipe

If it is a Nationwide Telkom issue then why is my Telkom internet account working fine, YouTube in HD, HTML downloads at 1.2MBs basically running at optimum but VOX can't play youtube and HTML downloads sit at 0.3KBs?

Yes this is what I also want to know. Why are all the other ISP's working but not Vox???

I can torrent at full speed but I can't go on youtube and sometimes cant reach certain websites for like half a minute before it manages to load.

And having issues with Netflix on my PS3.

I'll run a program and after 3 min or so it says it can't play that program, try again later.

Also my PS3 signs out like its losing a connection.

To be fair I'm not blaming Vox as I haven't tested properly yet but wonder if anybody else is having similar issues. I'm on Bolt-On.

It's buggered at the moment.

Tried Diablo 3 this morning - login fine, latency shows "green", but when you clicked on objects in the game, nothing happened.

Vox Telecom customers utilizing DSL services in the CTN region, have raised concerns to Vox Telecom regarding increased latency, spikes in latency and poor upload and download performance.

The issues were raised with the upstream provider and feedback was received that the matter is being attended to.

Further communication was posted by the upstream provider: http://mybroadband.co.za/news/adsl/152559-telkom-internet-network-outage.html

Telkom Internet are not an upstream provider unless one is a Telkom Internet data reseller. They are an ISP, and that specific issue was ISP related, so I'm not quite sure how this is related to any Telkom network failures at the Telkom Internet DCs interconnect points, nor how the Cape Town issue Vox is experiencing in isolation could be caused by the Gauteng PoP issues.

Ordinarily I'd stay out of this, but this would concern my business too and it's the 1st I'm hearing of Telkom Internet being an upstream provider to ISPs and potentially causing issues. We are also now fielding queries on our support desk with clients wanting to know more about the supposed Telkom nationwide network outage and if their lines are still connected at home...

From your link above:
Telkom said its points of presence in Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban were up.

So you say it is Telkom's problem that Cape Town is having issues and then link to a Telkom Statement saying that Cape Town is not having issues.

Can we have some real and actually constructive feedback please?

Sorry Michael. I believe it's Vox's responsibility notify their clients via the formal channels instead of referring to a post on a forum. How are Vox's business clients notified?

If Vox wants to be ISP of the Year, you need to step up your customer service

^^ This! Why have an app with this function if it is not even going to be used!

grrrr

I am not a Telkom Internet ISP subscriber... I am a VOX subscriber, and here in Cape Town not up North. Just how is a TI outage responsible for my VOX accounts being unusable? I have no problem on Afrihost or my Internet Solutions accounts... just the VOX are tits-up.

Eish, I left Telkom Internet ages ago because they suck, and now I am back with them via Vox...

Did any one actually read the Telkom reference that VOXY linked to?

It refers to an outage in Pretoria and specifically says that Cape Town is NOT effected, yet VOXY refers specifically to CPT having issues.
They are unrelated and as an aside my Telkom Internet Account is running perfectly, my VOX account is dead.

Thanks DJ.

@Voxy (Michael), sounds like you were fed a line of pure BS by someone... :erm:

Someone needs to take the shovel out of voxy's mouth. Just own up if it is a capacity issue. Although that begs the question as to why all the specials when not even a month later, big issues.

Sad really. Seen this movie before.
