Vox Telecom Fatpipe

Does anyone here also experience some DNS issues with Vox accounts from time to time? :wtf:

On my Fatpipe and Bolt on accounts, I encounter quite a number of DNS issues every day (some times it's fine for a few days). It happens for about 2 minutes or so at random periods, after that it seems fine again, but it frustrates me so much, I need to switch to a different account provider (without any issues). I know for a fact it isn't my router that is acting up or anything.

What DNS server addresses do you guys use ?

Google - 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

You don't state exactly what happens  Does your connection seem to freeze for a period of time ? If so, it used to happen to me on Afrihost & Web Africa connections (which I use intermittently during the day, for work), but don't recall anything like that happening with Vox - I only have bolt-on with them.

I'm inclined to think it's something to do with their networks, rather than your internet - at least, that's the feeling I got when the above used to happen to me.

I use Google's IPv4 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 DNS addresses, by the way.

The only issue I have is high latency from around 7PM until late. Throughput is always great though.

This has been going on for months now. If it wasn't for the half price fatpipe deal, I would have canceled a long time ago :(

Sorry, yeah I didn't really specify.

What basically happens is, it's as if my connection just "cuts" out. Especially with webpages, I'll get DNS error message in Chrome and nothing wants to load. The only solution is to switch to a different account and then 5-10 min later switchback to my Vox account and it will magically go away as if it didn't happen :wtf:

My Vox account has been dead for the past 3 hours. Modem sync is fine and I've got an IP address. Been waiting for 2hrs for someone from support to call me back. Can anyone from Vox DM me and help please?

Hmm....Not sure if anybody else are experiencing painfully slow internet speeds tonight? I've got 40meg VDSL, speedtest clocks in at 35Mbps, but arch linux takes forever to download a 2 meg file, cannot download the latest ubuntu release from a local mirror, and I cannot even pull new docker images as it timesout. But speed test is flying.

Came here to report the slow speeds tonight, and came across your post.
I've been experiencing the same thing for at least the past few days. Haven't had time to try establish a pattern with it.

Regarding tonight - noticed the slowdown a few minutes ago.
Speedtest won't load.
HTTP downloads from Germany were running at 1-4kb/sec.

Switched to WA business account and everything there is a-okay. Full speed on speedtest and 1MB/s+ HTTP downloads on the 10Mbit DSL line.
