Vox Telecom Fatpipe

Well, they talking about a price increase... Let's see how this goes. Been on R164 - 400Gb for some time now.. And they claimed R164 for life

They increased that price before...but quickly reverted back to R164 because of heavy criticism from everyone. So don't worry about it.
 
I'm dissapointed that Fatpipe Lite hasn't got a bandwidth bump. I'm not getting the same value or more from Telkom's SmartHome Unlimited.

Been looking for a new ISP, but I have a (very noob) question about Vox...

Is Vox on some kind of separate network? I don't understand what they're talking about by refering to Openserve...

I currently have a Telkom ADSL line. Would it work if I just sign up for the Fatpipe package and put in the details into my router, as you would for Webafrica/Afrihost?

Yes it works the same way, you just put your username and password in your modem router and it should work.
 
Vox is an isp. You can use them om your telkom adsl line or an openserve fibre line. Those are the physical networks.
 
Speed on vox is 2.57mbps. Afrihost manages 7.07mbps. :mad:

A quick chat with Ruaan, line was reset. Speeds back to normal. :D

I just received an e-mail from Vox now about the cancellation of their ADSL uncapped bolt-on. The text is as follows:

After a long and successful product life, Vox has made the decision to retire the Uncapped Bolt-On as of midnight, February 28, 2018.

Same, is this even legal? I would not receive nearly as much benefit from the Fat pipe as I do from the Bolt-on (data usage wise).
Would they not have to provide something similar?
 
I put in my cancellation for the bolt-on product last month. The Telkom Uncapped deals offer the same or more value.
 
Also not too happy about it. As long as they then stop billing me for the bolt-on service after it's cancelled, it's okay with me :)
 
Not happy with the cancellation of the Bolt-on as I would loose data wise as well so I would seriously having to reconsider my Fatpipe as well. :(

Bolt-on is from 6pm to 6am and the whole weekend. Basically full uncapped except during business hours.

Switching to fatpipe will probably cost me more as well, not happy about it but the bolt-on has been great the last 5 years I have had it. I guess every company has to move with the times, back then night-time usage on the networks were very low. Nos a lot more people are downloading and streaming at night, with video quality ever increasing. It will suck to have to monitor my usage the first few months though.
