Vox Telecom Fatpipe

Hi All,

Got Vox Fatpipe 400GB on a 10Mbps line.
Don't know if it's me that got stuff mixed up, but I only get a 1Mbps download speed on my line.
When doing a speedtest the results give me between 8-10Mbps with a 1Mbps upload.
The 1Mbps download is across different platforms such as Steam, Chrome download and torrents.
I have a 56'' 4K tv that I can stream HD content and I believe even 4K(set as 4K in account) in Netflix. Not so much from the other vid streamers like Youtube or add-ons in Kodi.

Netflix's streaming is pretty next level!

Any of you maybe have an idea what could be wrong?

I know this has been discussed before, I just want to confirm for my own peace of mind though: So long as I get my fibre line via openserve I will still be able to use my fatpipe data, correct?

Just to add, that's what I did, ADSL with a 200GB Vox account, now upgraded to 300GB on OpenServe while line + tiny data cap with Afrihost. It does go line speed (100/50Mbps).

Anyone else experiencing slow speeds and an increase in latency?

Has Vox rate limited their 400GB promo accounts to 40Mbit?
I doubt it, just did a speedtest and getting close to 100mbps

Glancing over these downloads speeds and records achieved makes me laugh, not so long ago a Telkom representative by the name of Stephen White told the media that 3Gb per month was more than enough. Not caring to check (Google) now but at one stage he was quite prominent in the media punting Telkom's 3Gb Cap which we were forced to suck up.

The last article comes from 2004, the same year I joined MyBroadband (Nee MyADSL) shows how the mighty have fallen, its taken a decade and change to force Telkom out of the dark ages of internet connectivity. We are basically now in the Internet Renaissance period and a way to go to catch up to the 21st Century.

Things are a lot better these days despite a cartel like business model which is South Africa's trademark for just about every product sold in this country.

Good work VOX!

Vox has been great with their regular updates via email on the network status and it having a possible influence on the speed for their users. Thank you, Vox! Keep up the good work because we do appreciate the hard work.
