100mps fibre trying to torrent... plenty seeds...5kbps download. wtf!?
Do vox throttle?

Can confirm, they throttle 100% on my capped account. Also quick to throttle the VPN some nights.
PS. I'm not P2P downloading.

Constantly on the 2tb max saved up, so not as even using that much of their data *at all*, never capping the data account - mostly only 50-60% use.

One wonders what's the point of having a capped 400gb account if you're not allowed to use it. :erm:
Got a WA account for when I actually want something quickly and especially to game with when Vox is acting up. Pubg generally pretty bad on Vox (friend of mine also moved from Vox to WA mainly because of Pubg latency.

Vox on Fibrehoods myself... Haven't had a single issue with speeds at all.

Try find another source for that torrent file and see what happens.

My experience with Vox capped on Openserve fibre is that they throttle P2P video streaming significantly, to the point it is unusable most times. No such issues on Afrihost or Telkom (on Openserve).

Now I am sick and tired of this BS!!!! For a year I have had 4x vox fat pipe accounts. Everytime I must hear they don't throttle their accounts. I tested this over numerous times this week. The moment I reboot with one of my 4x accounts I get a full 10mb/s speed. Just after a day or two the download speed goes down to 385kb/s. Tested with Webafrica 1GB free account and also get full speed. They are lying through their teeth. I am done with them, forever.

Yes, confirmed, Vox applies very aggressive throttling on their 100 Mb/s fibre service. Tested with an OpenVPN link. No issues on Axxess.

Looking at getting fibre going, does Vox throttle their 40mb/s lines as badly?

Again, I'm on a 50mb line and haven't noticed ANY throttling at all. Currently on 1,33Tb for August.

Depends on what backbone you are on. Frogfoot + Vox has no limit (I have asked in depth with their FTTH dept and so far haven't seen it). AFAIK Openserve Vox does.

Hi Jack i want to get vox with frogfoot in my area , will this be good as i plan to teach english online from home with video but i have very little knowledge on what to get. I said i am interestedin a uncapped 20mb fat pipe fibre line. Should i get a capped 20mb instead, will this help with speeds? It says the uncapped is unshaped but i dont know pleade help i will be very greatful or anyone that can help :)

It would be Openserve.

Trying to figure out the best combo with Openserve, Afrihost looking like a reasonable option. Vox is good from a financial side but I don't want to be throttled to death.

This is not an OpenServe issue. Do a simple test. Use another ISP like Axxess and test your throughput.

For example, with Vox a VPN link is throttled after a few seconds. With Axxess you will not have any problems.

I don't know why people say Vox service is so great. Their throughput is the worse I have experienced from any ISP.

Thanks, sounds like one to avoid. Have to decide between Cool Ideas and Afrihost, might come down to price ultimately.

So far I've had no issues. Done 840GB on the line this month and no speed controls.
