Vuma Reach Phoenix Thread

When you're up and running get a dedicated router. The WiFi seems faster from my TP Link router than the PON so I switched the WiFi off on the PON. You can do so by holding down the WLAN button on the side of the PON for 5 seconds.
 
Howsit everyone

Wonder if anyone can help shed some light on the Fibre in Phoenix.

Girlfriend stays in litford and trying to sort out Fibre for her house , from the list available on Vuma Reach's site , which seems to be the best in terms of installation.

I'm noticing some are having difficulty getting someone to come out to splice and install.

I've used Afrihost for my ADSL previously so already leaning towards them but just wanna make sure.

I'm in Cape Town where we had the same experience with installs, some contractors just show up when they want. Splicing does take up to 3 days. Not all the contractors have splicers as they are expensive and thieves target them.
Can't complain about Afrihost. Been down thrice but all due to vuma. The fact they don't use the voucher system is a plus for me.

Don't worry about all the horrific stories about installation, Sunford will start being sorted come Wednesday from what we have gather here so tell her she can order now.

Never had any issues with Afrihost during my ADSL days and now fibre. Good ISP of choice. Majority of the fibre issue will be on Vuma side not your ISP. Too much demand for rollouts/installs. Vuma lacks man power to meet those demands ATM.

i was scheduled for wednesday. Got a call yesterday from vuma to schedule again as they say their jhb dept was assisting with scheduling and wednesday is no more available. So now I have been moved to friday morning. fingers crossed that it actually happens this week.

Hi,

Thank you for considering us as your ISP.

There are some installation challenges for Vuma Reach KZN. There is a very high demand for installations and because of this some installations gets delayed.

It's unfortunately out of our control and Vumatel is working on getting everyone installed and activated asap once the orders are placed.

Omg if you are getting scheduled for Friday? Lol when will I ever get installation
I didn't get a call to reschedule so did they even give a reason for the delay?

when they called me yesterday, they didnt even know that i had an installation booked for tomorrow, when i told them, they checked on their system and says tomorrow is no longer available.
I think you should get your installation on friday. My sister got a call for the first time yesterday for installation on friday aswel. So im sure there are still spots available for friday.

Man soo much complication over installation, if you start see a fully grey haired guy
Tell your family, children , friends and neighbors that Vuma did it for him!

BTW which date is your Afrihost client zone schedule date reflecting? Did it show Wednesday when you got that date?

My initial installation was scheduled for 1st April, afrishost clientzone is still showing for the 1st April. It hasnt updated since the first appointment.

I got a call yesterday to schedule for Friday at 10.30 . . .
 
fingers crossed, hopefully soon. I saw a few guys from vuma outside my premises on saturday and they said that the splitter nearby my house had to be replaced which was meant to happen on monday. hoping thats sorted out
