Please assist, I am not getting much help with Vuma support.

My installation was done on Thursday last week, after which the installers told me that the line must be provisioned. (What does this mean?).

They came to provision the line on Monday, and gave me an object number just before they left. I was very excited to now get my WiFi setup, only to be told that the line will need 2nd provisioning?

I have no issue if this is the norm, so ultimately my question is if this is all standard protocol or am I being taken for a ride?

Thanks!

"provisioning" is Vuma's word for "testing".

a) contractor builds & tests a network
b) contractor hands the network over to Vuma
c) Vuma then tests each unit (called provisioning) to confirm that the contractor built according to spec.
e) Vuma tests homes 400-500 at a time (called an "aggregation")
f) once an aggregation is provisioned (tested) it gets handed over for ISP activation

you're almost there.

sit tight.

Geez, no idea. When they did my install the FX light was off. Came back the same day and after they fixed the faulty cable they left again. Logged into my router and configured. Then opened Vumatel.net and had to get the object number.

Sent that to my ISP and I was connected.

Wow, I guess they are quite swamped at the moment.

No what I meant is geez...what k@k service did you receive. You should have been online by now. There was no 2nd "provisioning" for me

Ya, and I have heard a lot of good about Vuma. Oh well, I am holding thumbs. So exciting, I have never had fibre/adsl before so I'm super amped and admittedly impatient.

Vumatel's systems are automated and there is a provisioning engine that runs in the background to configure the service end to end. but this does not normally take very long. a day or two max and done via the ISP
