We are currently on Vumatel trenched in our area and now there are contractors digging up our pavements to lay new fibre cables. There is little information regarding this, our councillor just informed us on the group chats that permission has been granted and this will affect only a few streets. Why would there be a need for this, when we have had fibre cables for close to a decade?
To make it all worse, some residents are complaining their service has been cut off with all the digging and the contractors are referring them to their ISP, claiming it's beyond their control.

The cables are owned and operated by the respective network provider who laid them..

So OpenServe, Frogfoot or another fibre provider is adding coverage for your neighbourhood..

This is good news for you, potentially, as it means vuma now will have competition in the area and that will hopefully help drive down prices in future..
