Vumatel Price change

Some advice please
I'm currently on a 200mbps symmetrical line with Cool Ideas. Their updated prices on this package is a saving of R80.00 (R1499 down to R1419), while Afrihost is offering the same package for R1147.00. Almost R280 difference. Am I missing some *first 3 months fine print somewhere? Has Afrihost improved on service enough for me to risk going back there? That saving is looking pretty tempting at the moment.

These are not promotional pricing. These are the our retail prices. They are subject to the FNOs like all our prices. We cannot guarantee that Vumatel or any other FNO will not make any price or package adjustment but as it stand this is our standard non promo pricing for Vumatel.

There also been significant changes to Link layer. Drastic price reductions and speed increases by that FNO and we have loaded those prices and Octotel pricing on our website.

See Afrihost's response. Regarding their service and network, I've found them to be very good

    This was only released yesterday, this will now be given to all ISP. once the new pricing has been implemented. We will send all new pricing to all existing customers once released.

I noted the same thing. The Vuma pricing story shows that the Cool Ideas price is going to be R 1349, but the mail I got says R 1419 as the new price, but I want to change to the 1000/200 when it is available for 1499 anyway.
Afrihost is a good deal cheaper on the 200/200 suddenly, WHEN the pricing becomes effective.

We do not restrict traffic on the 1Gbps service at all. You should be able to max the line on all types of traffic.

It's a relatively smooth transition if the current ISP terminates on time and we place the order without experiencing any issues. Once the order is in. Provisioning takes a couple of minutes to complete.

You have to do it asap. Dev pushed the billing run back a bit to complete the changes for Vumatel. If you submit it now it will be completed the end of this month.

We had it as a condition that we may limit it originally, but we never have and removed that condition quite a while ago.

It certainly isn't the case. The agent that assisted might have been mistaken.

Throughput is well determined on the latency and because of that you would need to multithread to get max download speed from international servers.

Does anyone know which is the correct price for the 200/200 on Cool Ideas?

Just spoke to the call centre, it's R1419. Doesn't make sense if you can get the 1000/200 for R1499

yep... he mentioned that they are updating pricing and invoices should be out tomorrow.
