thing with the 1000/200 package is that the 1000mbps speed only applies to local servers...Personally I don't see the value-add

I have been on the 1000/100 package with Cool Ideas for about 2 years and always get > 800Mbps to London speed test server.

My 2 cents...

Premium product imo i could save R32 on my package and go to network X on here as well but then my ping to Blizzard goes from 148 to 170.

Cool Ideas provide premium support here (which i'll happily throw some extra coins for), they provide us with a free VPN in the UK which gives me 140 to 150ms to all my gaming servers in and around the UK.

They have always been a little more expensive but i believe the service we get justifies those few extra green Nelson Mandelas we pay.

The small extra cost is totally worth it in my opinion. Their support (especially on this forum) and network quality are in another league compared to the other ISP's I have used in the past.

As others have mentioned, I have had so few issues over the last 5 years, it's worth the extra bit that they charge. When I have had issues, support was brilliant. Now that I'm full time WFH, it's even more important to me.

If I remember correctly some portion of that ISP is their own network or it at least used to be the case, and when they offer on other providers they naturally price according to their input costs etc.

With RocketNet and just received a mail on the new pricing structure and packages from 1st July:

1. Customers on the 10/10Mbps package will be upgraded to the 20/10Mbps package for R725/month.
2. Customers on the 20/20Mbps package will be upgraded to the 50/50Mbps package for R895/month.
3. Customers on the 50/50Mbps package will be upgraded to the 100/100Mbps package for R1 045/month.
4. Customers on the 100/100Mbps package will be upgraded to the 200/200Mbps package for R1 245/month.
5. Customers on the 200/200Mbps package will be upgraded to the 1000/200Mbps package for R1 495/month.

They said pricing is being finalized and the invoices will be out tomorrow. I usually pay early but i am going to wait till the first of July to pay .... i do not want to pay anymore than i have to pay.
