Vumatel Price change

Forget their dumb 50/1 package, the 1000/100 actually isn't too bad.

I'm more concerned about the t&c's saying that the Vuma price reduction is only a promo that's valid for 2 months.

Does this apply to all ISPs?

EDIT: nm - found it....

Even at R1399 the 1000/100 is cheaper than current pricing - hopefully other ISPs drop the price on this one too...

But how can they offer 10/1 amd 20/1 ... Vuma have done away with those upload speeds a few months ago ....

Sounds dodgy

I just heard back from my ISP ( fibre stream) and they claimed that this is not true. I wish if it was it would be communicated by now

Currently with Telkom and already paying more than what I should for 50/5.
I doubt they will offer a big reduction. Time to move I guess.

Which raises the question...how hard is it to move from one Vumatel ISP to another?
Similar nightmares in moving from Telkom and closing their account as there was with Telkom ADSL?

Shouldn't be too much of a hassle. As long as you have proof of cancellation with Telkom you should be able to get Vumatel to release the line for the new ISP to use.

I am with Vox and have not received any emails regarding price changes. I was on the 20/2Mbps line which got increased to 20/20 earlier this year, with a small price increase. Wouldn't mind being bumped up to a 50Mbps line for the same price. Then again I might just downgrade to the 20/20 if it means being able to save a few bucks...

ok i'm going to be honest and say it can be a bit frustrating - and I had lot of help from both my old ISP and new ISP.
moved from Rocketnet to MTS - both did all the work and Vumatel just gave uphill kept saying old ISP did not release - old ISP said they did - in my mind it was the ISP - but literally came down to both ISP going to Vuma together say we did this now please sort it out - and boom i was up and running.

other people have had worse experience - others no issues .

I am starting to wonder if any of the announced price-changes were initiated by an action on the part of Vumatel

I think the ISP in question here has jumped the gun on what Vumatel is cooking in the background.

Nope, I think the bigger ISP is just seeing what the competition is going to do. I.e. how much of the price decreases can they keep for themselves before customers consider jumping ship.

So far from what has been posted, MTS still has the best new price for 50/50.
