So i ordered my cables - should be here tomorrow. just confirming that i'll need to power down the Inverter and batteries before connecting the Pi power cable to the inverter?

I'd suggest so yeah.

My neighbor had 3 x sunsynk inverters, I think 4x Hubbles, and about 30 x panels installed in her workshop. Shortly after installation, they stole every single panel from the workshop roof in one night.

I'd **** the bed.

Damn - where is this?

Cables arrived today and I managed to install everything - had a spare Pi3b lying around so repurposed that for Solar Assistant. Only been online for half an hour or so but excited to setup MQTT in HomeAssistant later tonight.

It was remarkably simple and painless to get all this done

Did you just power down the inverter to install? Any pics of the installed Pi?

Yes I powered down both inverter and batteries to be on the safe side. The Pi is outside the inverter, figured it would be easier to get to if I wanted to reboot it or add a battery cable

Will add pics in a bit

Can anyone suggest what i should set my battery settings to? I set it battery capacity to 200ah. What should battery charge settings be now that i have 2 hubbles connected?

Shouldn't it be 220Ah?and what was the charge settings set to on one battery? Voltage will remain the same and you double what the recommended current was for one battery.

This is my stats for January 2022. Only added the second battery over the last weekend of the month. My eskom usage should be lower next month. Happy.

The Hubbles can take 100A charging current each, so 200A with two in parallel is possible, but the 8K Sunsynk can only do 190A. If it were mine, I'd set it to less than that though, because charging at a lower current will extend the life of the batteries.

I have 2 Hubbles and my charge amps I have set to 115. I assume that would be optimal then.

Wow today is absolutely horrible for solar here. Its 13:00 and my batteries are not even full yet.
