W@P's Solar System

I charged the batteries to full using the AGM method with the can cable removed. Then I changed it back to lithium. While it was charging it was showing a % SOC until 100%, both on the inverter (not sure how the inverter can give a reading as there is no connection between the 2) and status lights on the battery.

Right so looks like we are all set and ready to go. But nope. SOC on the inverter stays at 100% throughout the night. I have NFI what next.

The dip switches on the master battery are 1 on rest off. The second battery is number 2 on rest off. Not sure if that is correct.
I checked both batteries with PBMSTools and they showed full capacity, full SOC, and full SOH. However, the inverter SOH bounces around the whole time. No constant reading.

And I check the battery status lights now, they are on the last light meaning they are almost flat. It feels as if the inverter is not communicating with the batteries at all.

Fsck sakes.

Best to get Hubble to take a look. I suspect that there is a lot of balancing going on, and that it is going to take a few days for it to stabilise.

I logged a call this morning with Hubble regarding the constant 100% SOC. Jason from Hubble gave me a call and sent me the firmware to bring my second battery up to date with the master one.

Did the update and immediately the SOC changed from 100% to 54% and both are taking charge. So both are now on the same FW.

Jason and his team were connected to my batteries vir the RIOT and could pick up the anomaly. Their suggestion was to first get the second battery on the same FW as the Master one. Seems like it worked. Will monitor it for a few days and see.

Great support from Jason at Hubble.

That's good to hear. Also great that you are finally reaping the benefits of the Cloudlink.

Hi all, does anyone know where I can buy the RS232 2M USB CABLE ? Hubble is selling to me for R300 but I need it urgently to update the battery firmware as the batteries draining quickly.

I am also looking for a Data Logger for the 8KW Sunsynk Invert, I have the old data logger which doesn't allow firmware to be updated remotely. The quote I have is R3296.00 can I get this elsewhere cheaper?

Which old logger do you have that doesn't allow this? If it's Solarman then it does allow, you just need either your installer or Solarman support to give you remote access

How do I get in touch with solarman support?

I also called Sunsynk who told me with the old logger you cannot change settings on the inverter remotely.

I am able to get data(SOC) from Solarman app with some delay. However I cannot use the Sunsynk Connect app which I am told requires the new data logger, I purchased my inverter in 2021 sometime but now Sunsynk have their own data logger.

Hubble gave me contacts to whatsapp group to update the inverter firmware remotely name of the group DEYE Updating they couldnt update firmware because they pickup my inverter as offline even though it is not so I figured it must be the data logger?

Am I missing something?

Are you wanting to update firmware or change settings? Your posts aren't consistent.

Yeah i was also confused

If you bought yuor inverter in 2021 then you will have the solarman logger - your plant will be active on the Solarman website and app and Sunsynk will not be able to assist as they use the sunsynk Connect app.

Email these address and they will update the Inverter Firmware for you ([email protected] / chenxd@deye.com.cn)

Also enquire with them if they can grant you access to the functionality to change inverter settings from the solarman app.

I need to update firmware as well as change settings remotely on the inverter like changing when to use grid to charge batteries without going to the inverter. Hubble advised me to update the firmware of the inverter.

Thank you I have emailed them with both requirements.

Is there any way to check current firmware on the inverter? and where to check latest version. The solarman app normally pops up a message that there will be firmware update but I never really know if it did update.

On Solarman smart

@AchmatK can sort you out with remote control. But you need to use the business app. Not sure about where to update the firmware, but I haven't bothered looking as long as it works...

Anybody know where I can buy RS232 2M USB CABLE in store without having to wait for shipping?
Not sure, I got mine from the Solar Assistant online shop. AFAIK the ones you find at random PC shops or fong kong shops are a bit of a hit-and-miss regarding if they work or not. The SA cable works 100%.
