Just checked my usage for today, and see that out of the total of 400 odd MB of data, 250mb was for FreeZone Beta. Does that mean I only used 150mb of "paid for" data, and the other 250mb was free? Where would I have used this data - did nothing special today?

Anyone else? Checked on a few clients' accounts as well, and same there - 30-40% of their usage today is also FreeZone??

Does any of those clients run a Linux OS? Some Linux distros like CentOS can automatically make use of the Freezone FTP for updates ect.

Morning guys,

It all depends on where the traffic goes.
The following are listed under FreeZone:

  • ftp.wa.co.za (Linux repo updates)
  • ftp.wage.co.za (Gaming files, driver updates etc etc)
  • WAForums
  • WABlog
  • Steam servers
  • All gaming servers

FreeZone bandwidth comes bundled in with packages. So if you pay for 1GB for example, you can use 5GB's of FreeZone. It won't be deducted from your bandwidth allocation cost.
