WAR - Which servers?

Hey guys,

Sorry a bit off topic but is it possible to download the patch somewhere?

I am going to buy WAR later today but would like to start downloading the patch in the mean time if possible. I cant seem to find it anywhere though,...it seems like you can only download it in game?

Also, is it possible to move WAR between machines? What I mean is that with Guild Wars for example I can just copy my dat file from one computer to another, and ill have all the maps etc so I dont need to re-download everything. Is something like that possible with WAR so that you can just start playing on a different machine without having to download everything again.

Unfortunately you can only dl it with the games patching app :( Copying the game from a friend doesnt work either

Ok thanks. Well ive just gone out and I now have my copy sitting on the front seat of my car :D

Now I guess ill just have to wait all night to patch it, and then play tomorrow.

hmmm, that's a real down point in my mind that there isn't a dat file that you can simply copy like in Guild Wars :( So you pretty much have to always play on one computer.

Errr...that's incorrect. You CAN copy the game between machines just fine. Exactly like the WoW Client. You most definitely do not have to download the patch everytime or physically install from discs.

I copied the game to my laptop [after i patched it] and ran it straight from inside the folder, without any hassles. Just remember you must run the game via the warpatcher.exe , not the war.exe <--- that will not work.

In fact i have not even seen the Warhammer box, i bought a key online and copied the client from a friend .

As for patching, yes, you need to run the game patcher.

Cool, thanks for that. So did you copy the whole installation directory without actually installing anything on your laptop? So there isn't a dat file that needs to be copied, you basically copy the whole directory?

Yes, rather just copy the whole directory, it worked for me

Yea, i just copied the entire folder , it's about 12GB after patching. I don't know what the updater specifically updates, so i wouldn't bother just copying one specific file.
 
Do you guys know if theres any trial acount for Warhammer wana give it to a friend with the files ofc.?
