I just want to make sure people know about another Vodacom policy flaw.

Be careful when adding a soft-lock on a Weekender package from Vodacom. When your account have reached the designated Rand value, your phone will be locked for ALL outgoing calls, even if you had free minutes remaining. You run the risk of loosing those minutes.

I my opinion this flaw should be fixed or removed as an option.

I agree. The soft-lock should only apply to actions which will incur costs.

At least this time you used a fair title and an intelligent first post:)

I agree with you that way that the Soft_lock is implemented needs revision

So, what are we going to do about it? When you contact Vodacom, they simply brush you off and you get asked to send a mail to customer care. So much for trying to point out a fault in the system. Why should I have to go through the pain of contacting customer care? It is not my system. It is not my fault, i am simply pointing it out.

Johan i have been sending you pm`s the entire morning/afternoon regarding this.

Are you not going to take my advice like i mentioned to you ?

Regards
VodacomData

@ VodacomData - is there a technical reason why free minutes can not still be used once a Soft-Lock is implemented and if so can this be looked at and potentially corrected.

@VodacomData - will it be in the best of the forum's interest to tell us what's going on with this sort of thing?

Thanks :)

No. This is Vodacom's problem. You are trying to make it mine by requesting that I contact Customer Care. I told you, if you don't care about all the other customers with the same issues, then simply leave it. I care. Do you?

All of those who ever got a response from Customer Care, please raise your hands.... crick, crick... crick, crick...

Hi Mike

We can have a look at the suggestion , BUT johan does not want to put pen to paper and explain what he exactly wanted after all its a customer suggestion.

I asked johan to mail customer care with the suggestion but he does not want to.Then i can prioritize the suggestion or put some weight behind it

Hi Johan

Can you not send the email with your own words ?

I've actually always got a decent response from them.

I have never, ever received a response.

Can someone send me the correct email address. I'll send them a mail with a link to this forum. Ridiculous that I must do some work to help Vodacom with their system flaws. It seems VodacomData are not allowed to point it out to them himself. Strange, to say the least.

Great Johan,

I don't think the flaw needs lots of explanantion: it is as clear as daylight that a "soft lock" should not lock out everything.

...someone who sees the light! Thanks.

There must be something wrong with the picture that I am now forced to send a mail, before all the poor victims out there can be helped. I already reported it. Why should I now have to do it again?
