So it's out today, eagerly waiting for my PS4 pre-order to be delivered!

Anyone else getting it, and what platform will you be playing on?

I started to type "Bull Terrier or Doberman" then read your text.

Reviews don't seem to be "that" great for this title. Ignoring the point scoring system and rather looking at the opinion.

I saw the pics of this a wile ago, the game looks awesome.

Might buy it for PC.

Well anything with a Metacritic of over 80+ is worth playing for me, if it's in the sort of genre that you like. GTA IV received rave reviews, but I could never bring myself to finish it. GTA V was simply awesome though. I like the new concepts introduced in WD so will be keen to see how it's implemented...

I am in the same boat as you - waiting for delivery. Mr D promised it will be done before 16:00. Eager to see it on the PS4. I will have to fight my son for some game time tonight. :D

Got it for PC a few minutes ago. So many Kalahari deliveries today :P

I'm a massive GTA fan, so I'm hoping it's just as good or better. Will find out once exams are over \:D/

Yea got for PC a little earlier.
Looking forward to it. In reading the pro's and con's most sites list, I don't feel they will impede my enjoyment of the game.

All I hope is that when you allow people to "join" your gameworld, you have the option to also limit that to friends if you'd so like.

Set it downloading off Steam last night. Was at 75% when I left for work this morning, so should be good to go when I get home!

Played for about 1.5 hours today so far. I have it on the PC. Mixed feelings really.

I am considering getting my PS3 controller and some third party software to get it to work, just to see if it is any smoother. The KB and Mouse is pretty horrible in the menus. Opening up the wagon wheel is very ugly. The 4 main points (Up, Down,Left,Right) are all pretty easy to hit with the mouse controller, but the 4 diagonal points are like trying to thread a needle with a bulldozer.

So far, I don't really care about hacking the single mom, diagnosed with cancer. Because the profiler finds someone to hack and I hack em. The game has notoriety, but that is for your "in the light" actions. Hacking a good person from the shadows and taking their life savings has zero impact it seems, except to make me feel like a dick. Which obviously doesn't happen because I am robbing pixels. If taking money from people via hacks, had some kind of in game effect, then I might feel something.

Still got plenty to do though. I will play a bit more before deciding whether the story is worth it to pursue.

Mixed feeling here too, going to use a controller as well.
Driving was a bit hit and miss. Mostly hitting stuff :p

Im not a fan of sandbox games.I can never finish an openworld game because i just end up causing destruction to everyone and everything.
I dont see anything in watchdogs that we havnt seen in the GTA games.

Haha, Agreed. Trying to get a good notoriety is pretty hard when buss stops and diners seem to be filled with notoriety dropping road kill/pedestrians. I also feel like the sprint option is a little slow. I had this one mission to chase a guy on foot. We ran down a main street sidewalk. Both at the same idiotic cool man jog. Him shooting at me every now and then and me attempting to close the gap to get a non lethal take down.

With both of us running at the same speed in a straight line, there was no opportunity to cut corners and close the gap, so I just ran behind him for like 45 seconds. Until he ran across a street, derped left, derped right and I tackled him. So silly.

Also playing on PC. Has repetitive elements, like pretty much any sandbox game. Hack this, hack that, rinse, repeat.

Driving is a tad annoying at the moment, as you press left or right 'lightly' and the car just swerves and hits schit constantly. Difficult to keep control.

Also not crazy about the 'heat' system. Takes long to dissipate and those stupid green circles on the map that shows the cops looking for you are annoying.

True and GTA I can understand.

I don't do gaming anymore on a "everyday basis" and is by no means a modern console gamer. My gaming is purely based on the adventure genre and even that is lacking in quality terms with bad stories over the last years, but there is games with a 6/10 rating which I would had scored 7.5/10, hardly that a game is better than a reviewers 8/10.

I only hope that Watch Dogs can live up to its promise and that probable DLCs/expansions may push the game above its expected par. Should Ubi be lacking with this category, then their other high expected genre changing title (TC: The Division) may be lacklustre.

The reviews don’t look bad and they do have many pros, except that many comments here in this thread are highlighting their negatives which are actual nuisances experienced by the consumers which are not a good thing.

Pleasant surprise, I got a free Watch Dogs T-Shirt with my pre-order from Takealot :D Thought that the incentives would just be the DLC codes...

Thoughts so far - I think that there are some minor issues with the control system. The cars handle better in GTA V, and the movement of the main character can be a bit too slow and clumsy at times.

Apart from that, I think it's a great game. There is a lot to see and do. I've done about 3 campaign missions, a few side missions, and spied on a few people (what, I'm curious :D). There are also a lot of skills to upgrade, and some of the side games are ridiculously fun (like the one where you're taken on a digital trip and have to run over demons with a hot rod, Carmageddon style). I think that there's a lot of content to keep me interested.

For those who are interested, these are the kinds of WTF moments that you can expect when you spy on people :D (possibly NSFW)

Im still waiting for Kalahari to deliver my pre order from Feb :(

I'm enjoying it, probably one of the only single player games to catch my attention(and keep it) since GTA5.

I do struggle with the whole premise of the game though. Ok so you are this vigilante who is trying to save his sister and take down gangs etc but yet you hack people and steal there money, steal 10 cars a minute, accidentally mow down a few pedestrians a minute, shoot at cops and so forth ?!? It would be impossible to play the game and not do these things so it is a bit strange. If you forget this and just go with it, it is quite a fun game.

Getting used to the controls now. The only cars I struggle with are the faster ones as they seem to wheel spin a lot so accelerating from low speeds while turning is just about impossible.

The hacking thing is cool especially attacking ctOS locations where you take control of cameras, blow up stuff, open and close dones et cetera. Makes for easy pickings when you eventually go in guns blazing.

7/10.

Well there is a rep system to offset mowing down pedestrians and stuff, where you get positive rep and possibly XP for doing good things like taking down criminals, and negative rep for killing or injuring civilians. But the problem is that I can't see how this has any effect on the game or the story, other than the things that people say about the vigilante.

I found that the cars do actually handle fine, it's the camera that's the issue. It doesn't seem to automatically keep focus on the view ahead. So if you make a turn, you often end up with a side-on view, and have to manually centre it again so that you're looking straight. Makes things pretty iffy when you're trying to chase someone or have to evade the cops. Hopefully it's addressed in a patch...
