I've had bad packet loss all day (http and podcasts), which gets worse towards peak time. I also had DNS and routing failures for a short time (an hour ago).

Netflix off since Thursday afternoon, on Vumatel with MWEB. Also mrs. Angelo cannot play Rummicub. You may have an idea of what hell is being experienced here...
We can see Netflix on MTN data so MWEB is actively blocking it. Fck them we will find another isp, was considering it anyway after the Webafrica takeover.

I already posted elsewhere that there is a large undersea canyon just off Abidjan, which would explain the break better. We will find out soon...

You rediscovered an undersea canyon that is not even mentioned on some lists of the world's undersea canyons! Good job, Gordon!

I googled Abidjan undersea canyon and found one (1) article (probably in French) dating back to 1971. Nobody would have believed me if I posted that as an authoritative source...

A bathymetric chart of the Trou sans Fond (Bottomless Hole) submarine canyon off the Ivory Coast, Africa, is presented, based upon a 1400-km survey in 1968 by the O.S.S. Discoverer.

At 1500 fm (2745 m) where the continental rise commences, the canyon is abruptly offset 20 km to the west, suggesting that the present outer fan valley is a newly developed channel.

The Trou sans Fond appears to be the only canyon which taps the paralic zone between the Cayar Canyon to the north and the Congo Canyon to the south.
