WC 2010 Ticket Chaos - Fail!!

currently not available?

Does anyone know why the status of so many games is "currently not available" on the internet? Was it not supposed to be first come first serve now?

Trying to get something in Durban so I can take my nephew to see a game. :(

Strange happenings on the website....

Since Thursday there have been no CAT4 tickets for the Germany v Serbia game in PE.... today there are????

moggie.... ive been trying since 9am today to get those tickets online.
When i get to payment, says some problem with pay server every F**King time.
NOW GAMES ARE F**King SOLD OUT!!!!
WTF

@moggie - just checked germany / serbia game - status: currently unavailable.
There system is just a big mess if u ask me.
Ill have to go down to the ticketing center later today.

Just heard today, Checkers Hyper have an allocation of cat4 tickets. They started selling today.

Apparently its going like hot cakes.

i dont see what the fuss is about.. i managed to get every ticket i wanted, except for the semi final in cape town. FIFA told us long before the sales phase 1 started how the process would work and that a credit card would be required for buying online. I already had 6 of the matches i wanted by the end of the 2nd sales phase..

The day after this last sales phase started, i went online again, looked at what was available, bought tickets for the 1/4 final and 3rd/4th place match in PE, paid, and had it confirmed 2 min later.. I dont wanna sound rude or anything, but if you wait for the last possible chance to buy tickets, can you really expect to get what you wanted?

btw... they did also say that tickets would become available for sold out matches etc if people handed some back or if the corporates handed theirs back.. so if you really want a ticket for X match, just keep checking back on the website and you might just get lucky.. there is even a phone number you can phone to buy you ticket...

you make valid points, however as i stated previously, i applied in every 'round' of ticket applications and have been unsuccessful thus far. don't know why, but there are 100's if not 1000's in the same boat. and this time i made sure i was down at the outlet on the 15th before sunrise, was 1st in line and still nothing, which was as a result of fnb/fifa system meltdowns. i am at the stage where i am about to welcome the notion of watching my favourite sports most important and amazing event, which takes place in my own back yard, on tv. how terribly unlucky is that?

Exact same boat...applied all the time...
It seems I have to watch it on a TV. Are we just that unlucjy?

Are you guys only willing to watch games in Durban and CT? If so, you will need to check the site every day, to try and catch tickets as the open up. Also, you may need to buy higher catergory tickets.

True. People in SA love queues. Why did you wait until the last moment. I got all my tickets during phase 4 which was not a random draw by the way. It was first come first served over the Internet. I applied on Friday night and got an SMS by Saturday night confirming a deduction from my credit card.
Next time you will know the meaning of the early bird and the worm. LOL....:D
Now you have to watch Slovenia vs DPR Korea LMAO:D

The only way you could not have received tickets in the first come first serve phases of the ticketing process was if you did not have sufficient funds on your credit card. These phases were not actually application phases. If a match was available, and you selected it, and provided valid credit card details you would have got the tickets.

Honestly, since the 15 of April, Fifa.com on Capetown and JHB tickets always say Currently Unavailable, even now ... How exactly does one buy tickets online CAT4/CAT3

i personally think the chances of getting a ticket for cpt or durban is slim to none.. unless u keep checking every 10 min on the fifa website and hope u see when someone has returned their ticket...

I don't get it...every time I've been online tickets have been available, but at over R1000 a ticket, I mean pleeez, 4 tickets= new 32" LCd TV, just not worth it..

Which website? link please, definately not CT/JHB/DBN

if u are a soccer fan, then it is worth it. This is a once in a life time chance for most people to see a world cup. If you are rich enough and can afford to spend 30000 on airfare/hotels to fly to some other world cup, then kewl... however, most of us cant. Like i said earlier, if you applied in the beginning, then you would have gotten the tickets you wanted. R1000 for a quarter final match is not expensive at all... remember how much the british lions tickets cost? they were close to 600 a pop werent they?
