WD TV issue

I like my WDTV Live hub as it is easy for my wife and kids to use with my lan content, I have however been looking at one of the Android boxes as they are more versatile. I quite like the Tronsmart devices and the MINIX devices get good reviews.

@henrg: Take a look at one of MXIII models from AVSupply. It will take you many hours of tinkering to get the same level of customisation (usually referred to as "fully loaded" - see first Amazon link below) from a standard Tronsmart or a MINIX device. They have put a lot of effort into their new firmware and the new machines are really impressive. The local support and 1 year warranty are another obvious advantage. I have also sent you a link to a few screenshots if that's of any interest.

Here are a few Amazon reviews ...

Is it a Normal thing with the WD TV, that when you boot it up, it will switch to a black screen then switch to 1080p. I noticed that when I switch it on, it will go to 720p then go blank and then switch to 1080p. On my mede8er when I boot up, it boots up in seconds, but with the WD it takes a long time.

The other issue I'm having ,and I'm pulling my hair out, is it cannot hold a proper resolution. My tv is set to 1080p, but It keeps on losing it and going down to a lower res. So I'm having to manually go and adjust it.
