Web Africa ADSL general feedback

This morning my line ws very slow. Phoned WA support and it took 11 minutes for support to answer (double pain as one has to endure the stupid canned message from Sue). This at about 08:40 - terrible support during business hours especially

On the other hand I used the live chat and that was very pleasant. JP gave me great service and followed up with a call later on to let me know the progress of my concerns. He does credit to WA, but the telephonic support leaves lots to be desired

@WA, do you guys realize you have a serious problem with your customer facing portal?

I've had 3 co-workers complain about it now. Basically it puts clients off and they go for other ISPs.

Do you guys even test your web-site? I mean losing customers because your web-site has obvious bugs is really pathetic IMO.

Firstly the submit ticket button throws an exception from the customer portal
Secondly submitting the debit order details requires the username & password to be re-typed. Again, and again and again. Wtf? Just never submits.
Thirdly. I've entered my banking details but now I have 3 invoices outstanding? Guys, I'm willing to pay my bills but your system is so badly run that I can't pay even though I want to.
I also had a very hard time signing up. The first time round I got blocked by a "fraud checking" system. But no manual intervention from your side.

If I were a manger @ WA I'd be very concerned. For a single customer to encounter so many bugs, really sad.

Somehow I doubt anything will come from this post but that was one of the worst web applications I've used in a long while, had to say something.

Still very happy with their capped product.Line has been running at full speed all month.Even Telkom has been playing ball and upgraded my line from 10015kbps to 10239kbps.What's up with that?

I've been with you guys since before the uncapped craze started with MWeb and I'never forget how WebAfrica was the only ISP that ever managed to max out my line speed, changed ISPs in between but always kept WebAfrica around to manage my line and Telkom charges etc.
I'm currently on OpenWeb Gold... but the past few weeks with them has been horrible....

Anyway, so I poked around your site tonight and after a bit of reading and MyBroadband crawling I decided to add a WebAfrica 60GB Capped account I can upgrade later once my OpenWeb calendar month notice is over.

Holy crap.
I have to say your site is even better that it used to be. It was the most seamless and fastest ISP upgrade I've ever done and suddenly my line is flying again, I've forgotten I can actually stream 1080P Youtube seamlessly and I don't have to crap my pants when doing a bit of P2P after hours, not to mention the insane 9 millisecond response times...
Well done guys. Actually feels good to be with WA again (and you can take that from a grumpy 'ol bastard when it comes to ISP's).

Just one question though, based on the attenuation and SNR ratings of my line on your site the max I can get is currently 6Mb, but I once had a Telkom dude over who did some testing and he said I should be able to get a stable 8-9Mb if I tried.

Is there any possible way I can try a higher sync speed out?

Thanks for the feedback and we're glad to hear you loving our capped product :D

If your on a 10mbs line and it is with us you should be able to adjust the speed via the line speed optimiser tool and if your line is unstable you can drop it back down.

If you having trouble contact our team via live chat or call and they will assist.

I've signed up for the 120GB + 120GB - lets see if I finally have stable internet.

Hi Gnome,

This is very concerning as you should not be experiencing so many issues. Clearing your browser cache/cookies should resovled some of the issues.

If you still having issues please private message me your customer code so I can get our team to take a look.

Well then... I decided to test the free 1GB home capped account to see how it is now that AH has issues in CPT. The free account worked wonders and I had zero issues so I decided to go for the 90GB package. First thing that happened is I activated my account at 11:30 last night and got an immediate bill for the entire month of March... like wtf, I've had one e-mail from WA the entire day and still nothing is reflecting that they credited my account. shocking service to start off with. Next thing now is that the lag is unbearable and STO keeps disconnecting even though it was rock stable with the free 1GB account... is this just the way they opperate? lure you in and then you get **** internet and **** service?

Hi WA,

I signed up or a 2mb uncapped product late in March. I received a debit order authorization form and on there it states
"Upon receipt of your authorisation, your account will be activated."

I never returned that form as I changed jobs and things were a bit messy. Why is this account active and why was I chanrged for April?
Also, I would rather get a capped product lateron and I'm increasing my line speed today.

Please advise. Client code PM'd to Justin.
