Web Africa ADSL general feedback

Also got an email today saying I owe R598 (R299 x 2 months).

They also have my CC details in my clientzone, so what's the problem?

Their billing is a joke. One would think it would it would be sorted now as they have had since at least January if not longer.

EDIT: Just had a look in the billing section and saw that they don't process cheque cards, only credit cards. I always considered my cheque mastercard as a credit card and has never been an issue before. I guess I'll have to update my details to change to my other normal credit card. Weird they can't process a cheque mastercard, everybody else can :wtf:

I don't do downloads, so paying almost double for a business account would be silly. I am however looking at the capped option. 120GB costs R100 more per month (with the added bonus of having another 120GB for after hour downloads, even though it wont be used).

I just find it strange that a measly 120GB of traffic cripples a service. That's what Mweb does as well.

Will switch to capped. Can only be better than this "uncrapped" account.

I don't watch my account like a hawk so I didn't realise that my account was never debited.

I just ended up paying the outstanding balance via EFT, after updating my cheque mastercard to my credit mastercard.

Will wait to see if their numbers tally up, and that the debit goes off automatically like I assumed it would next month.:)
 
A quick question regarding freezone, is all downloads from ftp.wa.co.za in the freezone? I have just downloaded new Ubuntu LTS and according to https://dsl.webafrica.co.za/usage.html it was part of the anytime data. Is the freezone only a specific time of day? Am I missing something somewhere?

I cant believe these guys, I had to change my CC details as my card was not tokenised what ever the hell that means. their billing department is useless don't know how this company survive.

What exactly did you change? I've re-entered all of my CC details - but I see they still haven't processed it. Support still hasn't replied to my e-mail asking them if they've tried to process it again. I refuse to set up a debit order with them - they need to fix the CC system or I'm going to another ISP.

I have asked our Billing team to contact you and get this sorted. Apologies about this and our system should allow you to update your card details.

Can anyone else having issues updating card details or bank details PM me your account details.

Sorry for the misunderstanding - it did save the card details, but this morning the payment still hasn't been processed.
 
Wow. Really terrible speeds the last 2 days. And this is what my speedtest says.

Is this the norm for 4mbps accounts on 5 stars?

anyone else experiencing super high international latency tonight with WA? Seems I'm getting over 500ms here in Cape Town tonight.
 
I'm on 2 stars again (sigh) and this account has turned into a throttled Mweb account... Struggling my ass off to load this page or any other. Netflix struggling, unable to play anything online.
 
I have a capped account and can't load any webpages. I am using my AH account right now!
 
Definitely a problem with WA.Speeds non existent and pings absolutely awful.Thank goodness for my back-up account (Afrihost).

Also had issues last night with international latency. ESO was getting 1000ms. Had to switch to the backup isp account. WA got back to normal around 1am.

Same here, but not only International game servers, local too. I experience lots of lagging.
