...also waiting for telkom to fix the telephone box at the pole
How do you get Telkom to fix the box at the pole? About a year ago a Telkom technician came to my place and told me that the box is very old and needs to be replaced. He said he will arrange that. Needless to say nothing happened. I then phoned Telkom a few times to get it changed with no luck. The reason for the original call-out was my S/N ratio was very low (and still is).

I am curious. Have all you persons with current issues used the old fashioned method aka the phone? I ask as I have resolved a few issues by just calling them.

I have phoned about 4 or 5 times earlier this year (I then gave up). A technician then phones me and I explain the problem. He says that he will look into the problem and then a few minutes later I receive an SMS saying that the problem has been resolved (and closed). Of course nothing changed.

My theory is that the technician realises that it is a difficult problem and enters it as resolved so when the customer phones again it gets assigned to another technician.

calling them is like a gamble,it all depends on who helps you

some are useless, dont even know the basics
then there are those who are brilliant ,and short things out fast

@ wingnut771

also i tryed to log again, but my old fault logs still open so cant log a new one :/
know how to close it?

no, but it's a good thing the fault is still open I guess :p

Then I would phone 10210 every morning 8am (I've found the wait times are less) and "escalate" the fault.

But to be fair, that might be a part of the site which is in need of an update. It doesn't care about download plus data either.

Thanks @Aessa, that's exactly where I got it from. But you're probably right in that their DSL console may just be in need of an update.

@wingnut771, where did you get the screenshot of that table from? This is the first time I'm seeing it, and it definitely seems to be more in line with the quality of my connection.
