Hi,

We know that this network issues are impacting all our customers in a bad way but I can assure you we are doing our best to get things back to normal as soon as possible. There has been another major update released today but we are working with our network team to make a few changes to minimise the impact these updates are having and we hope to have the changes implemented soon.

We will be updating our status page continuously as soon as we get more information.

Carol, any clue how big that update might be? Microsoft seems to think we're all in the US ... some of those 'patches' can run into Gigabytes. To be fair to WA, you'd have to post your line-speed and the size of the download, and maybe even a comparative speed-test done over the same line at the same time from a different device (like a PC). Then the numbers will show you whether that 'slow' speed is correct or not.

Hey Fox, we are a 10mg line and he says the update was 600mb odd so he says it should have taken 30 mins at most. Anyhow, he already frantically called WA before i checked here and was told that they are having trouble so guess he must just be patient and not scream too much at the telly cos its not going to make his xbox work any sooner

I had the same problem in East London. Restarted my router and modem and speeds are back to normal.

I did just that and its back to normal, if I can call 3.05meg normal !

Suddenly getting 4meg on a 10meg line with 400ms latency. I reset the router/modem, then its back to 10meg, then after 2 mins its being throttled again. I'm on capped. WTF WA? Refund ALERT!

Must say, pretty disappointing for capped. I'm paying the same as I was for business uncapped and I'm getting a mediocre service. Vox seems good though, I think I'll move over to them.

You have different experience with them?

Right now - WA capped gets around 50kB/s, Vox gets 400kB/s. That says something. If I'm paying for capped, I want to use it whenever I want.

I realise that Home uncapped gets the lowest priority, but this is really ridiculous. Completely unusable at the moment

YouTube maxes my line, yet Twitch, Vidi and dailymotion refuse to stream.

On a normal home capped account. Unable to do a speedtest. And tracert keeps dropping packets. Maybe something to do with Telkom's new management software?
