Web Africa ADSL general feedback

Their new deals are pretty decent.

But I really dislike the calendar month notice. So ... if I was to stay with them I will cancel my cancellation near the end of then month and then phone to cancel it again. Got a recurring reminder in my calendar.

In most cases we wanted to cancel an ISP account near the end of the month, so this will work for me.

I'm tempted to go to CW but it sounds like their portal is too alpha for me going by the CW thread. So I want to wait a bit longer.

Hi

Truly sorry for the delay in reply, are you still experiencing issues, Kindly PM us and we will immediately investigate this for you.

I am on a 4mb line. The increase was a massive turn off for me.

Talk to 1 of your bosses and ask for my line to remain at R250 pm. If you cannot do this then I am taking my business elsewhere.

I live in an area with a low adsl uptake. I do not experience adsl issues so you dont need to charge me extra for your line rental. Your staff/coworkers wont have to spend time with Telkom faults/issues.

Tick tock, make it happen or you lose me as a customer.

I await your response and a lack of a response = a cancellation.

You have 48 hours.

Thank you:)

Got to admit that its weird that the cost of the line rental went up without forewarning. Personally i always keep my telephone line with Telkom. The reason is history has shown that ISP go through phases and eventually (sadly) the quality of the ISP goes down and its far easier to transition to a new ISP that doesn't own ur line, than when they do.

Thankfully in the year that i have been with WebAfrica i have had only 1 issue, which was promptly sorted and coming home yesterday to see that extra 40gb/1tb data was a nice surprise!

Well I am going to be using another ISP if WebAfricahelper doesnt get back to me. The manner in which the increases were handled was ****ed up.

+1 I'm beginning to think the same

Yes it has been increased, all communication as to why was emailed over to you.

I'm actually rather annoyed by this as there was 0 notice.

Very sorry that this has made you felt this way, all communication was emailed over to you, if you have not received any, please PM me

Please PM your account details, so that we can contact you and discuss further, apologies about the line increased pricing.

I don't know about the others but I never received any such email besides my normal monthly invoice. You are actually making it worse by implying that your customers are now lying about having been given notice.

In actual fact, to be fair, we require a months calendar notice regarding the increase which means this should only actually take place in January as the first I heard about it was the 2nd November 2015.

But after the increase had already been implemented. We get told before the end of the month what is happening to the petrol price next month so we can plan accordingly.

To increase prices from 1 November and inform people on 2 November is a really poor show. In fact with your cancellation policy you should have told people 5 to 6 weeks before so they can action if they want to without any penalty.

Sadly - whilst we do appreciate the extra gigs - when you increase prices without warning, this just comes across in a really poor light and I would actually go as far as saying it is not very ethical at all

I have a 4mb business capped account... Is it even possible to use 1000gb during download plus?

Why not rather give a bigger increase to the day time data?

Good question:

4 Mb/s ~ 400 KB/s
400 KB/s * 60 s * 60 m * 6 h = 247 GB

So, no.

Even 10 Mb/s can't use it:

10 Mb/s ~ 1000 KB/s
1000 KB/s * 60 s * 60 m * 6 h = 618 GB

Thanks for that. Thought when I read it that it wasn't possible. Almost like false advertising.
