Web Africa ADSL general feedback

First days on my 100GB account and I was happy. Now there seems to be a little slowdown.

P2P getting a max of about 150 kb/s. Had a lot of buffering on youtube last night as well. 4mbps connection. Websites like news24 takes very long to open. Will keep an eye on the service and if I am not happy will have to move again...

What line do you have? Where you downloading during DL+ hours

I am still waiting for a call or some kind of feedback. Are you guys willing to keep my line rental at R250 or should I cancel with WebAfrica and move on?

This is all dependent on your line speed. Having said that, others have faster speeds that others (2, 4, 10Mbps, 20 and 40 VDSL) but the matter of fact is that 1000GB is available and you're welcome to increase your line speed to 20 or 40 VDSL line speed (that's if your area supports that speed) to max out the 1000GB.

10 Mb/s ~ 1000 KB/s
1000 KB/s * 60 seconds = 60000 KB/minute
60000 KB/minute * 60 minutes = 3600000 KB/hour
3600000 KB/hour * 6 hours = 21600000 KB/day
21600000 KB/day * 30 days = 648000000 KB/month
648000000 KB/month / 1024 bytes = 632812.5 MB/month
632812.5 MB/month / 1024 bytes = 617.9 GB/month

This calculation doesn't include uploads. Nevertheless, the 1000GB is available for customers to use and bear in my mind that we have VDSL customers (20 & 40 VDSL) that have the same package as well.

Hi, do we have your current email address or have you changes email addresses because mailers were sent to the registered email addresses on the account?

Those were poor speeds for a 4 meg line

Generally I have found DL+ hours to get close to, if not full speeds most of the time. On the odd occasion there might be a glitch, so I would suggest seeing what happens in the next day or two. If you still get those speeds, then there certainly is something wrong.

I have a 2mbps 100+1000gb capped home line but when going onto the dsl console to check my usage it claims I have a "Business Static Uncapped VDSL: 40mbps Pro"

What is going on here?

Same here. Business Static Uncapped VDSL: 40mbps Pro. hope I'm not going to get a nasty surprise on my credit card bill...

Also on 100+1000
 
It looks like they have upgraded the console and in the process have not ironed out tweaks.

I am on a capped account but it tells me that my uncapped experience is great.

Am guessing this was not all tested properly before being launched and now they will need to sort out all these glitches
